Riot if your goal for camille was to lock down mobile squishy champs

Taliyahc··41 votes·3,019 views

Then you completely freaking missed the mark.

She just hookshots in on immobile adcs trying to farm under tower and ults them. Sure she can lock down some mobile champs too but jesus christ any adc trying to stay alive for more then 2 seconds when playing against camille better be sivir because she's the only one who can even block that stupid point and click ult.

And then she duels juggernauts because lol supergapcloser with stun and AS steroid and Q true damage and W slow because fuck you too.

They went on 2016 champion reflects and listed her as the champ to deal with super mobile champs when she literally has something in her kit for every different situation.

Catch immobile squishies, lock down mobile champs, tankiness with a shield, 1v1 juggernauts with true damage. So freaking rediculous.

If they want champs to deal with hyper mobile champs they should be looking at more mechanics like Poppy W. Punish only people who want to dash through it. If Cam's ult allowed you to leave but grounded anyone standing on it that would be a counter to mobility, as it stands it's a counter to movement. It doesn't matter if I'm Ashe or Lucian, it just fucks me over.

Fondling Gems3 votes

Poppy W and the grounded effect. Actually I would like to see a situation support who uses the grounded effect, could be a neat counterpick into hyper mobile comps.

You think they would learn after making champs such as Kalista Azir Ekko , yet they don't

kile1471 votes

Tbh true damage hurts tanks more than juggernauts, because tanks tend to build more resistances while juggernauts build health. I'd say her mobility and shield help more against juggernauts because they allow her to engage/disengage at will while winning the trade and juggernauts tend to be too immobile to do anything about it.

I feel like camille ult should be a target ability (like kindred passive) where you mark the target you want to keep in the zone. Then camille ults in place and if the target isn't in the octagon the ult goes on cd. This atleast allows the champions to flash out of the ult.

Clarity: Camille would press R and cast her ultimate in place. (Like maokai's ult) The champion that she marked prior to going into combat would then be stuck in the ultimate. If no champion is marked camille can not cast her ultimate and once she marks a champion she could change targets after not being in combat for 5 seconds.

item 3157 counters her ult

Lucian item 3089 item 3115 item 3157 item 3006 item 3146 item 3285

here we go

Lauchmelder2 votes

I'm not even playing Lucian, but I'm gonna go for that build and give it a test in the new practice mode. If it works I have a new midlaner xD

EDIT:// he got waveclear but absolutely crap damage. Worth the try though

LankPants1 votes

swap out Zhonya's for Lichbane to get a little more burst.

Lauchmelder2 votes

Swapped Ludens for Lichbane, he's a towerpusher that way. But it's still not as good as AD Lucian I think.

LankPants1 votes

It's completely just shit AD Lucian. It can be fun to screw around with though.

Only Play Darius3 votes

It's hard to make a specific counter to mobility because mobility is more often than not general power. Cassiopeia also shits on immobile melees champs harder than mobile ones.

Immobile durable champions like Juggernauts should be the Primary counter to hyper Mobile champions. The class needs more tools before they can do it effectively

It's... the... other... way around? Mostly?

Mobile skirmishers are the only melees who can kite Juggernauts. Juggernauts fuck tanks and non-mobile bruisers.

You know there's something going on when Camille counters Yorick Olaf DrMundo. Champions who should, very specifically, beat her out.

Camille Support is my free elo right now. Just build straight tank, and just throw your hookshoot to a wall to make people waste their flashes XD

And her ult is a guaranteed kill LUL Especially since it turns her untargetable for a few seconds.

I was dived at 50% hp by Jhin and Malphite (support) and Malphite died and Jhin couldn't kill me because I ulted malphite which turned me untargetable for a few seconds and pushed away Jhin and Malphite died from turret shoots and they I hooked shot 9393982 miles away from Jhin

She's very balanced. "Extremes are easy, it is the balance that is difficult" Camille

GJ Riot. No weaknesses in the design.. oh wait, her weakness is that she is melee. LUL

To win a fight against Camille I have to stand so far away that she can't even see me.

She also pushes Heimerdinger's turrets away with her ult, which is bullshit, btw.

This is one of the rare occasions when statistics were wrong.

Camille's win rate on release was so absurdly low that it seemed she needed buffs.... time passed and we now realize that she is very strong for the role she is supposed to fill.

Taliyahc8 votes

Cough Taliyah cough Cough Azir cough Cough Kalista cough

Everytime a champ comes out with low win rates riot instant buffs them but the problem isnt their numbers its people getting used to the champion at first, if riot would stop jamming new champs full of power right after their release like they do in about 1/3 of new champ releases they do nowadays we would probably see their win rates slowly rise to normal numbers instead of some insane spike of double digit win rate points

Fondling Gems2 votes

Maybe they buff them because half the boards scream for buffs?

LankPants2 votes

What people read from statistics is wrong in a lot of cases, for example statistics suggest that Sona is a top tier support. She's really not, she's far weaker than the meta supports right now. What she actually is is an easy support who people who don't play support often and just get autofilled to the role (which is a large portion of support players) tend to do far better on than someone like Zyra.

You should avoid just taking statistics at face value, they can be useful but you need to stop and take a second to look into what they actually mean.

That's true.

Sona is complete garbo.... and I say this as someone that has played a lot of Sona but also plays other supports.

Would you like me to show you the topics where pikawhatshisface would blather on endlessly about how Sona was the worst support in existence? I do have a memory, you know.

Ok so one guy correctly thought that Sona needs buffs and overstated the case... it's called hyperbole.

What exactly was your argument here? that I'm right? I'd have to agree with that, sir.... you need a lot more experience to debate someone with talent. You got destroyed.

LankPants3 votes

What is it with everyone who thinks Sona's not a terrible champ being low gold or lower? It's almost like she's a garbage champ who crushes plebs.

kile1472 votes

But Sona has a 60% win rate on people with over 50 games with her, compared to Zyra's peak of 55% at 15-50 games. Based on player experience distribution Sona actually has more dedicated mains than Zyra does.

Yeah she does that, but she can 1v1 juggernauts, 1 shot squishy immobiles, provide tons of slows with sustain.

Riot said they wanted her to beat super mobile champions, not every champion in the game.

Juggernauts aren't actually particularly amazing duelists for the most part, perhaps somewhat ironically. They're all right at it as a class, but far inferior at it compared to almost every skirmisher and some divers (Camille is frankly an inferior duelist to Xin Zhao for example, in all likelihood). They're actually only about on par with divers in terms of dueling. Even Darius, one of the better duelists in his class, will get fucking shrekt by any skirmisher but Ekko in a duel, or to a Xin Zhao.

There's a lot of variance in the class. I can't imagine Camille would fare well against Trundle in a duel at all, for example, Trundle being one of the best juggernaut duelists. Once Nasus gets going he'd stomp her as well. Yorick likely also beats her.

actually, sivir, fizz, nocturne, fiora and maybe morgana can block it

I'm a leblanc main. She can lose to a good Zed, Corki, Syndra, Ryze, Yasuo, or Diana. And if you play bad you'll lose to everyone.

But who is camilles counter again? Oh yeah no one

Rozair1 votes

Darius, Fiora, garen, malphite, lux, anyone can with enough skill actually

SH Azykan1 votes

ooh I can answer this one Top: Darius Ekko Fiora Garen Irelia Jax Lissandra Poppy TahmKench Yorick can all do quite well Mid (where I usually play her): Ahri Elise Fizz Leblanc Lissandra Morgana Pantheon Ryze Syndra Taliyah Veigar can all give her varying degrees of trouble

its always a problem with anti-mobility mechanics in this game, that they turn out to be way way more effective against immobile champions than mobile ones.

thats why permaslows like when item 3116 was built on every single mage, usually force the game into a meta of hypermobile champions. because champions without much mobility in the first place have no tools to compensate for being glued to the fucking ground, and just become entirely worhless. while the mobile champions are still able to gapclose long distances.

the only anti-mobility mechanic that is successful so far imo is the grounded debuff.

I love grounded. That has to be the best anti mobility effect in the game in terms of punishing mobility and not immobility

say hello to my little... your dead. I'm sorry, did your abilities deal damage? I can't tell. You have a shield for my physical damage... I have magic damage too so... rip. You want to run away? q, w, hextech gunblade... good luck. Oh, and while you are dueling her, any teammates nearby camille are taking insane aoe magic damage (who knew your e splash scales insanely off ad). And you are sitting at around 2700hp as an adc so... good luck 1-shotting that.

SH Azykan1 votes

yet immobile champs like jax and garen absolutely can just fight her in her ult she removes a champs escaping as an option, but a lot of champs can just outright fight and kill her in her ultimate is supposed to be the fantasy the need to lower the bonus damage on AA's when she is in the ult, so that she uses it specifically for lockdown, not because it allows her to now out trade the renekton from the bonus damage

Kingnewgameplus1 votes

Did you just call jax immobile?

Chief Mayonnaise1 votes

This is the side effect of all CC. 90% of the time, if it can lock down a mobile champ, it can lock down an immobile one even harder. The only effect that doesn't do this is the grounded effect.

A better design for the ult would be some sort of tether between her and one target. The target gains the grounded effect while it lasts and camille can gain her bonus damage. Now it no longer completely screws over immmobile ones as badly and still fulfills its purpose.
