whos a good strong toplaner

It really depends on what you want to provide for your team and your playstyle. Personally, the following are my main picks for top lane:

Great chasing, kiting, durability, teamfighting (if mega), and in-lane harass. It's very hard to catch or escape him once he has Black Cleaver and Frozen Mallet.

Solid tank who will always be useful whether ahead or behind due to his CC and damage reduction.

Good generalist with solid burst and sustained damage, durability, CC reduction, and sustain.

Great poke and sustain after he gets a few levels and items, high sustained damage, damage amplification on his ultimate, and solid durability through his passive and healing. While his lack of CC means he can have difficulties chasing and initiation, he's still a massive threat.

High AoE damage and a massive lane bully. He can heavily punish many melee champions during laning phase and melt entire teams later in the game.

Strong tanky fighter and a good splitpusher. If he gets farmed up, he can be a massive threat in duels (though he can be kited in teamfights) and his Wither can take an autoattacker out of the fight.

Irelia, Maokai, and Nasus aren't the best picks at the moment due to the strength of Fiora, Garen and Darius, but they are still solid choices.

Nasus is also bugged at the moment, so I'm waiting for that to get fixed.

Wukong is a very strong and solid top laner.

First of all, I love your summoner name.

Secondly, Vladimir is a fantastic champion, and the rework to WotA solidified that. If you're looking for a tank, Nautilus and Maokai are safe and useful. Shen and Gangplank impact the game in many ways, along with retaining the ability to carry. Finally Lulu has bucketloads of CC and a meaningful engage/escape.

Endless Sorc has a good post. I'd like to add Shen. His sustain is great, as he is not a mana champ, and his energy regens quick. He has a nice team-fighting ult for protecting the squishy, and a taunt that can basically peel the entire enemy team off your carry. Have fun.

too bad his Q bug is game-breaking for him so I wouldn't recommend you play him in ranked this patch.

My favorite top is - amazing duelist and you can still build full tank Second favorite is - build full crit and one shot the entire enemy team with barrels Third favorite is - Really tanky and a great team fighter (in mega form). I wouldn't recommend him for solo queue since nobody ever goes in when you're in mega form, they always engage when I'm mini -_- at least in silver 4

personally, if you want someone who will never let you down, go with chogath

he has high damage, decent range, tons of crowd control and sustain

his only consequence is that in trade for everything he has, he is the most vulnerable tank to sustained damage and tanky initiators
