I was S4 Diamond. I've got myself demoted to S3.

WTF am I doing wrong?

I haven't really played ranked since S4, just enough to keep gold for rewards. I thought it'd be funny to main ADC thresh back to gold since I placed S1 after screwing around in promos. Now I'm genuinely stuck. What the hell even carries anymore?

Before anyone asks, I don't have any even moderately high-ranked friends left to duo with. None of them play anymore, citing complaints about the state of the game. The friend I have been queuing with I'm pretty sure has been detrimental to my progress...

Hello friend, ive been on the rift for some time and i can tell you first hand that single buddy you might be queing with is without a doubt causing you severe lp loss and just bad games all around EVEN AFTER YOUVE STOPPED PLAYING WITH THEM. im not sure why this occurs, but if i was a league archaeologist scientist whatever, its come to my belief over 7 years of obsevation and trial error that playing with your friends will plant you in elo hell. for example i was silver or bronze every season until i decided to play ranked games by myself where i climbed to plat 3 years now and diamond in flex 3s last season, even though it seemed like a douchy thing to your friends, Riot seems to even the odds so to speak when you eat alone at the lunch table. ive tested this also this season already with flex 5s being my buddy games, even though i try super hard in them just as if i was solo, i lose alot more games even if im fed like any other normal ranked game but im stuck in silver with them. so Riot wants you to be basically a god if youre playing with average friends even if they have good games and maybe belong higher than they are, Riot doesnt see it that way and Riot will give you the shorter stick every time if your friend/friends cannot carry as often, or hard as you can.

Bot lane carries hard now. So you can main Support and do cheesy stuff like harass with Aery on a Lulu maxing Q or Janna maxing W. If you're mid, look for any opportunity to roam bot. Jungle should focus bot. If you're playing Top, look for opportunities to TP bot.

Basically it's all about bot lane in Solo Q. If you can get your bot lane fed, you win.

Screwing around/trolling in Promos possibly ruining other peoples games. Karma for trolling or just washed up.

I think this post is a troll, but just incase you really are this oblivious i suggest you reread the first paragraph of ur own post. Specifically the first 3 sentences. Contrary to ignorant beliefs, silver players are mechanicaly not bad at the champions they main or play often. You can not expect to get anywhere close to gold as "thresh adc". You are also severely underestimating how much of a cancerous sess pool silver actually is. Either try hard to get out of silver or stay stuck. Its as bad if not worse than getting out of plat 1

Possible explanations:

  1. Your last-hitting is worse. Getting almost all the minions when laning is part of any diamond-level performance.
  2. You’re not optimizing. ADC Thresh does not work. Play him support or play a marksman. The same goes for builds.
  3. Your early game is worse. Ward placement, pocket, jungle awareness, back timings, and power spikes are all-important.
  4. Your mid-game is worse. Rotations, objective control, roams, and dives are necessary to break open the game.
  5. Your late game is worse. Positioning, teamfighting, Baron and Dragon control, and sidelane pressure are necessary to win.

If you want to get back to your glory days, then I recommend watching Leaguecraft 101, which teaches you how to play at a mid-diamond level.

Pay special attention to the first video, Trading Stance, which is the cornerstone of the early game videoes and the hardest to master.

The game has changed drastically, is your problem.

Carrying is no longer about just getting fed. It's about doing everything you can to stop your team feeding.

The latter, for the most part, is far more valuable than it used to be. Play one game, leave kills for everyone else and see how differently it plays out.

to carry to gold+ you need to pick something that snowballs hard and the proceed to dumpster all lanes so that when team fights come you can at least get a triple kil.

Eve and WW are good for this (eve less so though)

There’s no way a Diamond player can decay all the way to a silver unless

  • Boosted
  • Account was given to another person claiming their “rank”
  • You stopped caring
  • You’re not playing as good as you once were

DuoQ = 50% Winrate Smurf Abuse DuoQ = 50+% winrate No Smurf DuoQ = 50-% winrate (due to the smurf abuse DuoQ)

Bassicly the only successful duos are the assholes who ruin the matchmaking system

BUBBBBUT POSKEE ME AND DUOOO ARE CLIMBING AND NO SMURFS

  1. Low sample size
  2. Both / One of you belongs way way higher to a point where holding him back / both of you wont matter
  3. Coincidence / Rare exception, I am just saying how it generaly goes

This is why I ll always be against DUOQ even existing in SOLOQ.

#DuoQ existance kills itself

The game evolved, you didn't adapt to it. This leads to you not being consistent. Every season you end up playing a different pool of champions. What made you stop playing your most played champions like Draven?

if you genuinely want to improve I recommend "summoner school" its a subreddit dedicated to helping people improve and it's an open-minded as well as an informative resource to help you improve

I'm not sure about this but I have a friend who was an open beta player, whenever I play a carry around him and can't carry hard enough, he tells me, 'you can't solocarry anymore, not like in the old days'. I don't actually know what he means, but maybe you do? Maybe that effects you?

Also my personal opinion is, different elos have different rules. Something can be great at climbing in gold+ games, but unable to get you through bronze + silver games. You need to find the thing you can play, that is ideally OP, that carries in low elo--- ---in order to get into high elo.
