I don't even know what the hell I'm doing wrong anymore. I don't want to play ranked, and I haven't wanted to for years, but I at least want the rewards for gold.

But I just can't do this alone, it seems like. None of my actual friends want to play, citing League as being awful. None of my old high-ranked friends play anymore, apparently being smart enough to quit altogether.

This is the most frustrating season I've seen. I just can't seem to carry games anymore, or, more accurately, that my carry isn't worth anything. Can I get someone of a decent rank to duo with into gold rank?

Keep in mind that I'm Bronze, but I've also been playing a long time mostly uninterrupted. Here are some things I've noticed:

Riot nerfed being good at early game just now, and increased the chance of a comeback by increasing passive income.
There is a long range, fast, squishy meta right now compared to previous seasons. This has led to a lot of whining on the boards that Ahri needs a nerf, since he is one of the few champions that counters most of these champs.
AD champs being able to get grievous wounds and vayne's passive (Lord Dom's and Mortal Reminder) changed the feel of the game.
