Now that we have jungle timers, can we have inhib timers on the minimap?

I propose we combine the two into a new dynamic inhibitor icon.

I propose that the icon be changed to act like a loading circle while the inhibitor is down. This is what it 'might' look like at 3/4 recharged: http://i.imgur.com/TtsJvec.png

This change does not give new information but redistributes information we already have and increases clarity.

EDIT: after 299 votes, (289 upvotes 10 downvotes) we have a 96% approval rating of this post. Albeit this is a small sample size, relative to the boards it is quite large.

I think the problem is that only a small number of players know about the glowing circular timer thingy on the inhibitors

Not that I think this is a bad idea, but there is already the visual indicator that you mentioned (the circle around the inhibitor) and an audible announcement when the inhibitor will be re spawning in 30 seconds.

I just don't think it is necessary.

take it a step farther and give us some indicator that could be smart pinged. its not a huge communication point but the more you can say without typing in chat the better.

I'd say have it be the full gray icon and have the timer be the ring turning blue.

This is actually quite helpful. Let's say you have 2 enemy inhibs down and it's very late into the game. Having that 3rd inhib would greatly put your team at a advantage but it's also quite risky. Knowing when the other two inhibs are spawning can help you make your decision.

The circle itself is pretty hard to recognize exactly when the circle is nearly full.

Does that not mean anything to you people? Nobody pays any attention to it as is. It isn't even that old of an addition. They literally added it earlier this year. I want to say around the same time as the elemental dragons. Why do you think it will be any different if the icon in the mini map gets an indicator too? It really wont. Most likely this will get a few people to notice and make good decisions because of it, but most STILL WONT NOTICE.

So sure Riot, go for it. Waste some more time on something like this that will have a small impact and don't focus on something more important. I mean, sure why not, Worlds is coming up and you're going to need something to do for a few months. I'm sure you have no big plans for the preseason. ...

Lol my comment wasn't even negative. It really is a good idea, I just don't see it really adding that much to the game. There are already tools in the game designed to do what you're suggestion accomplishes. Sure, if Riot were to do this, it could potentially make it slightly easier, and I'd be all for it. I just don't think it will really improve the game as much as you really think it will. The people who actually pay any attention to inhibitor respawn time probably already know how long it takes, and the ones who don't wont even notice it any more due to this addition. I'd honestly just rather have Riot focus their resources on things that will make a larger impact.

Props for the idea though. Honestly, I don't mean to discourage you at all. Keep thinking up ways to improve the game. I would much rather see things like this than people talking about how much they hate certain champions because they just got their ass handed to them in the last game they played.

They have audio heads up. When they say it will be repawning soon, there is 15 seconds left until it's fully respawned. A visual one would be nice but I with all the jungle timers, I already feel like riot is holding our hand too much.

honestly, the more non-hidden information riot gives the better. I support this change entirely, and would be glad if they did it to jungle camp icons too.

I'd seriously be half half on adding silhouettes of wards with small timers if they were seen by allies: If you know where a ward is, you can tell everyone in voice chat if you're in skype or discord. Otherwise, you have to use chat, pings, etc and rely on your memorization of ward timer scaling. It wouldn't be a huge priority however as there are things to consider like whether you have vision on the person who placed the ward (to know their level. The silhouette would be the duration of the highest level opponent), or if they run out of wards and end one early (would keep the silhouette anyway)

The only bad thing I can see is if the loading icon is completely gone once the inhib gets destroyed.... until the first tick or so, which it would be a wtf sliver. I would suggest greying it out and just slowly filling it with red as time goes on.

this, Ive been wanting this for awhile. I dont completely know why but I always have a problem reading the timer circle thing on the inhibs anyway, I think it would be easier if it was an icon then the actual glowing ring on the inhib.

i feel like only the defending side should get the inhib timer because if both sides got it then the attacking side would have a bigger advantage to knowing when it comes up than the defending side
