Why is "duo" allowed in SOLO (/duo) queue?

I am wondering why there is no "strict" solo queue. What does it help to allow for a duo partner? All it does is give those who duo an advantage over those who don't.

Hence, it distorts the rankings, and therefore should be removed. There is flex queue since a long time for folks who prefer to play with others. Simple as that. The duo alternative makes no sense if you want a ranking that adequately reflects the skill of each player.

Obviously, all smurfs / boosters know that, too. So you have them queue up together most of the time (ever watched "100 games to diamond" or similar streams? NEVER do these players do it alone (at least not until high platinum), ALWAYS do they duo... why you think that is?)

Because a lot of people wanna play with their friends. Percentage of people that want strictly solo que is miniscule.

Challenger is actual solo queue for when things get seriously competitive, but up until that point it's not really a big deal. They tweak matchmaking mmr's when someone is in a duo, so the duo doesn't necessarily have an advantage if they're all on main accounts; it's mostly when it's a smurf duoing with another smurf that things get stompy, but really a single smurf soloing is gonna be fairly stompy anyway, so spoiling things for the legit duos just because of smurfs isn't practical and wouldn't actually impact game quality all that much.

Even worse is the fact that they allow two duos on one team.

I'll give you the straight up facts. This is a directx 9 game. We are currently in the realm of directx 13 . They can't even establish some sort of mathematical balance to a almost 20 year old game concept . They have basically been pretending to busy for years while throwing as much facade on it as possible to keep us from looking at its deteriorating foundation . We are all victims to their manipulative behavior.

Because flex is for 2-5, excluding 4, however it's meant for 3 and 5, both constituting a majority of a team in terms of number of players.

Solo/duo allows you to tag a friend however still remain to be 2/5, the minority so no real team advantage is had.
