Every champion is OP
So if you have been on the boards for any decent length of time, you've probably seen at least 5 or more treads discussing the need to "nerf X champion". Now while many have some valid points I would like to suggest a new way of looking at champion balance. Think about any game you have ever had and the champions you have been using for said games, each and every champion at least in my knowledge has a point where there are officially fed. tanks get to tower over any real damage threat, assassins insta gib within the first hit, and so forth and so forth. Many champions also naturally get stronger during certain stages of the game and with certain items.
So every champion in the game has a point in which they can become OP and precede to carry the game. The reason I bring this to balance is to say that since every champion in the game can technically be "OP" , our focus should be on how easily that champion can reach this point. certain champs have terrible lanning phases while others need to snowball early or be irrelevant come late game. Think of a champ that you have a personal issue with, think where are they weakest in the game if they go even with you. If you are like most of the board you'd probably have a hard time finding that weakness; not because of lack of knowledge. Rather the reason many champs get so much flack is because many have no real weak point of the game, sure they can fall behind or feed; but many can be much more relevant if that happens then others thus the higher pick/ban rate.
I bring this to the board and (hopefully) Riot to say that a champion should have weak points in the natural progression of the game and not just a bad early game for an amazing late game, like almost every champion. I feel that many of the problems people have with champs is that even if there kit requires high levels of mechanical skill, the ease at which these champs can abuse there advantage leaves many in despair and sometimes desperate to just FF. I understand as the game progress that champs have to get stronger and being spoon fed kills will make any champ fed. I merely would like to see balance around how champs scale in game. For example: at what necessary item for there kit would a champ get the least power from, is it there first major item or is it there third. These are things that I feel we need to focus on in terms of balance, I would love to think of almost having every champion scale into the game differently. I feel that focusing on how the power curve of each champ differs in there own strengths and weakness would be at least a different perspective onto how we can look at balancing champions.
Lastly I would love to hear your opinions on my post, is it out right dumb, are there gaps of logic, do you just straight up love it. Please don't be afraid to tell me.
