[Champion Contest] Chuizi, the Kindling Hammer

Description: Chuizi is a tall grown, graceful and young woman who wears a red Qipao with blue flames ornaments with emerge from the bottom crawling up towards her waist. Her hair is black and long grown towards the end of her back.

Trivia: Chuizi is chinese for child of the hammer.

Her intended roles are Marksman and Assassin.


Lore: Chuizi was born to an Ionian noblewoman and her husband. Her life was always peaceful and calm. She could had anything she want at any time she preferred and yet her life could be considered inperfect. Because her mother mostly had important meetings with the Duchess and other nobleman her father was her only real parent. Chuizi was fascinated by the stories her father told her. But the most interesting for her was the one surrounding the Rune Wars. The giant armies which tend to clash at each other for nothing but the sole land they demolished in the process.

Her father was gifted in illusion magic and with each word he spoke the armies became small illusions in front of Chuizi and her father. And whenever he told the story anew different illusions were spreaded across the floor of her bedroom.

And so years passed until her mother died in an assassination when Chuizi was ten. She didn't know her well yet she couldn't stop to cry for four days. When the rain of her tears stopped her father told her that they have to move since their status was revoked. They left the captial and moved into a small village with a monastry. Chuizi's father quickly found a way to collect money for their new home. However she was all alone the whole day. She started to wander around the village and found many interesting things she never saw before. Most of them answered with a "Moo" or a "Baa". But the most intresting thing was the monastry which reminded Chuizi of her old home.

Each morning when her father left the home she headed to the walls of the monastry, climbed a tree and glanced above the walls towards the training monks. They reminded Chuizi of the warriors her father made up in his stories. Day after day she came to the tree to watch the monks at their training. To train herself with them wouldn't had come up her mind. She was told to stay out of trouble ever since. However the watchful master of the monastry noticed her since the first day she moved into the village and confronted her.

She was embarassed because she couldn't do anything for him and yet she watched them every day. The master just smiled and invited her to train with the other monks. Hesitantly she accepted and was introduced to the arts of the Chenli.

Years later at one night, Chuizi's father didn't return to her home. During the next week everyday she walked around the village and asked if somebody had seen him but everybody negated the question everytime. When the plead to her master tha she wanted to leave the monastry to search for her father the master denied the request and told her that she isn't ready yet. Chuizi stayed.

Months later the Noxian Invasion occured but it hadn't reached the monastry yet. When she heard about the Shojin monk in Placidium and the Institute of War Chuizi felt the curiousness again when she was young. And she left. In the middle of the night she walked all the way back to the city were she once was born.

Similar to Thresh' Chuizi's Auto-Attacks are not projectiles.


Abilities

Innate: Mark of the Flaming Hammer (Innate): Chuizi abilities apply Mark of the Flaming Hammer on her targets for 4 seconds. Whenever Chuizi auto-attacks against a target with Mark of the Flaming Hammer the mark is consumed, restoring 10/12/14/16/18/20 Energy (Level 1/4/7/10/13/16) while increasing her attack speed by 15/20/25/30% (Level 1/6/11/16) for 2.5 seconds.


Q: Fire from Above (Active): Chuizi slams her ignited hammer on target location dealing 35/55/75/95/115 (+ 30% BAD)(+ 20% AP) magic damage to enemies within that area instantly. Over the duration of 4 seconds damaged enemies receive the same damage again while their armor is reduced by 10/15/20/25/30.

W: Disarming Spark (Active): Chuizi launches one side of her Meteor Hammer in target direction disarming the first target it hits (Disarm counts as a blind) and throws the opponents weapon towards Chuizi. When Chuizi successfully disarmed a target she will propel herself away from the target for 350 units. When the target retrieved his weapon the disarm (blind) is cleansed. After 2/2.125/2.25/2.375/2.5 seconds the weapon is automatically returned to the owner.

The disarm cannot be cleansed with Cleanse, Quicksilver Sash, Mercurial Scimitar, Mikael's Crucible or Remove Scurvy. Weaponless champions like Anivia, Syndra and Lee Sin are also disarmed and everything works the same. The area is marked with a weapon symbol and only visible for Chuizi and the target.


E: Stand your Ground (Active): Chuizi flays her Meteor Hammer in target area before her damaging enemies in an 120° arc for 60/100/140/180/220 (+ 60% BAD) physical damage while applying a fading slow to all damaged targets. (30/35/40/45/50% for 2 seconds [Linear Formular for fading])

Please note that this ability doesn't use the whole space of the 550 range. Only a 150 width 120° arced ring is used. The player have to determine the area and direction for the spell.


R: Descending Dignity / Ascending Wave (1st Cast): Chuizi swings both hammerheads in front of her moving all affected enemy champions in a line while dealing 100/150/200 (+ 60% TAD) physical damage while stunning them for 0.5 seconds afterwards. Chuizi can use Ascending Wave 5 seconds after the use of Descending Dignity. (She doesn't need to hit anything)

(2nd Cast): Chuizi swing both hammerheads as an uppercut knocking up all enemy units in a line for 1 seconds while dealing 100/150/200 (+60% TAD) physical damage.

Skins:

Poro Herder Chuizi: The Meteor Hammer is exchanged with two Poros on a leash while wearing Freljordian clothes and furs. The Fire effect from Fire from Above is now blue instead of red. The cleanse area of Disarming Spark now displays a Poro.


Backstory: The basic idea about Chuizi came to me when I thought about an AD Carry who should use his abilties frequently to create fluid movements and a fluid gameplay. What I mean by that is that most carries tend to use only auto-attacks and they use their abilities to amplify certain aspects, primary the auto-attacks themselves, or to finish the target. To fullfil this goal I wanted to use the Energy ressouce. It would give me enough freedom to create a kit with a good "spammability" and the player enough restrictions not to overpower their enemies with endless poke. And because the Energy ressource is currently focused on Ionian champions I thought it would be very fitting if Chuizi would also be Ionian. Since most of Ionia is influenced by the East-Asian culture I would also choose to use a weapon from China, Japan, Korea or the Isle states. I've googled a bit and found the Meteor Hammer and its various formes, such as the Fire Metor (ignited), the Water Meteor (uses water to increase the weight) or the Spiked Meteor (obvious). In a fantasy world like Runeterra I felt that the Fire Meteor Hammer would be the most fitting.

The abilitiy kit would be the next thing to do. Usually all Energy based champions have a mechanic to restore Energy to enhance gameplay and to limit the ressource in the first place. Without the instant regeneration the champions would either have to much Energy since the costs are lower in general, they would have only a single burst combo because they're out of Energy or they have no ressource when the whole combo costs less than 200 Energy and each spell has less Energy costs than their cooldown 10 Energy. But first I created the basic abilities based on usual fighting style movements/techniques with the Meteor Hammer. Fire from Above is normally called Storm from Above and is a slam on target location which is easily to dodge but hard to block. Stand your Ground is a swing move which normally should keep enemies at distance. This is why it inherits a slow. The second reason for the slow is the rather long animation/total cast time. To include some hard CC I wanted to use a grapple move. However LoL doesn't feature something that is good useable. Sure there is the Thresh hook but I didn't want to give her something that is already used. Thus I created the Disarming Spark. To create more counterplay to blinds and to let it being called a disarm I created the disarm mechanic with the field. Initially she hasn't the gap closer as Caitlyn does. This was included afterwards because I wanted her to be a little bit more mobile. The ultimate Descending Dignity / Ascending Wave should be something that should look like a combo of doom. And I thought on different abilities for that. At first I thought about a whirlwind attack with both hammerheads at max range spinning around her and knock back anything. But this would be too strong. Besides It would primarly been a long-lasting Janna ultimate. After that I thought about a mix between Ahri/Zac/Wukong ultimate. After the first cast you could dash up to 2 additional times damaing all enemies you pass through and knock them up. But this would probably too much for an AD Carry. After some additional trys I finally came up with Descending Dignity / Ascending Wave. Lastly I had to do some stats and the lore.

Quite the interesting kit. It's confusing at first, but I got it after a while. I do quite like the mechanics on her W's blind, but I think it could be made a bit better for clarity's sake. My only concern is that a marksman that doesn't use mana has much more sustain than any other marksman, perhaps add a way that the sustain could be limited?

I feel like she doesn't really fit the marksmen role that well, but the kit certainly isn't lacking! I like the disarm mechanic and how the energy usage doesn't necessarily turn her into a spam monster/removes all gates of resource.

EDIT: Forgot the passive marks, those are genius in terms of combining a caster and marksman.
