4 Team, 40? player, League Map

This was an idea i had. It would be cool to see a game that was even more hectic with more split pushing, and multiple team fights going on where the squad had to organize their players well in order to push effectively.

This is a 4 team map, it is basically 4 mirror copies of the classic map, but it can also have the number of turrets in lanes reduced by half, but the ability to split push more effectively would have me think that it would be easy to push a lane into the base and take a couple towers while one team was busy fighting off another team.

This would add a new diplomacy element, where teams could have a tenative truce with each other, but also easily betray each other.

The map is quite large, so this means getting turtles would be very important. Perhaps a reduced cooldown on teleport.

I don't know what the real meta would look like, but i was thinking somthing along the lines of. (For Red) 2 Normal Top lanes for top and bottom. 2 Normal Mid lanes for diagonal lanes. 1 ADC and 1 Supp for Center Lanes. 2 Jungles.

The problem is that the load time might be long, but taking advantage of a team being aced would lead to quick games i would think, with two teams pushing against them.

As if rito servers could handle 40 players on one map. Cool idea, though.

Saint Eunice1 votes

They make a lot of money, it would be a cool investment to have some higher quality servers for this, but that could still easily keep the idea at bay, because nobody is really fond of spending money, ahaha.

LaceUp233 votes

They do make a lot of money. Has any of that crazy large portion of money went to getting an East coast server? Nope. They are a business. They might tell you that their goal is to make people happy and the game fun and all that, but at the end of the day their single highest goal is to make money. Getting upgraded servers isn't going to make them as much money as releasing an OP champ so people buy it, and then nerfing it 2 patches later....or making cool new fancy skins. Not saying it is wrong, just saying that it is the reason your idea wouldn't happen lol.

More like doing large one time cost project of that scale requires a massive amount of investment (believe me it's massive) which needs to be above and beyond their regular expenses/profit margin. Having recently gone through a large upgrade process for hardware at our business I know this isn't something you can "just do". Not only that I feel there's other issues involved besides, far away servers. I live on the eastern side of the country and have never had an issue with this.

Rueian1 votes

We all get it... you have problems on the east coast. THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT THAT IS BIGGER AND BETTER THAN A STUPID EAST COAST SERVER.

LaceUp231 votes

I'm not sure why you have that tone when the topic was bout servers in the first place. Calm your titties.

Rueian1 votes

because constantly complaining about east coast servers over and over again when they have clearly said they are doing something about it currently not only gets old, but is a waste.

LaceUp231 votes

First off, I'm not even complaining about it. I get fine ping at about 90. I simply said they haven't done it despite a huge playerbase asking for it. They have been saying they are doing something about it, but that doesn't seem to be happening. People on the east coast still have the same issues they have had. This man made a suggestion. I said their servers couldn't handle it, since they can't even handle east coast players. You have to be trolling because there is no way that you think what you are saying makes any sense.

Rueian1 votes

the servers have nothing to do with east coast players having bad ping. thats shitty infrastructure and ISP throttling.

Making an east coast server is actually a BAD idea since you'd split the player base in half. What Riot is working on is making a dedicated hardware roadmap for players to connect through rather than the old network backbones and then centralize the server. Both of which would equalize the ping of players across the coasts.

LaceUp231 votes

It is not impossible to have an east coast server that is linked with the west coast one. I know what they are trying to do. Like I said, I'm not the one bitching about it, so I'm not sure what you are rambling on about.

Rueian1 votes

having the servers split wouldn't work out because matches would still be hosted on one of the 2 servers even if you linked them. So no matter what one coast would always have problems.

and i know you can link servers, look at Dota2

Ancestor0071 votes

Even if they had, i don't think your computer would handle this. Unless it is specifically mad for this, the lag would be horrible

LaceUp231 votes

I mean, what sort of requirements would something like this need? I'm no computer expert by any means, but I can play League AND have my Pokemon emulator playing in the background (gotta play on death timers, which I have a lot of)....so my computer is basically a beast.

Rueian1 votes

emulators are not intensive on your machine.

LaceUp231 votes

I know. Neither is League.

Rueian1 votes

league can be, if you bump up certain settings. Like shadows. But shadows in any game is intensive.

LaceUp231 votes

Depends on the computer. I have max settings and shadows and everything on. My laptop doesn't even put on it's super fan mode. League really isn't intensive at all lol.

Rueian1 votes

shadows on most games kill FPS and it really depends on what kind of GPU you have

LaceUp231 votes

Like I said, I have a laptop and my FPS are a steady 60 (monitor max) and my super fan doesn't even come on. And I have FAR from the best laptop's available for gaming. Sure, if you get a touch screen flippy la do girly computer you will have issues. But then again you will have issues trying to open up Word.

Rueian1 votes

pretty much. I mean my laptop isn't for gaming, its a coding laptop. All of its power is in the CPU for quick compiling.

only thing is they would have to rig up a new system to allow a team that has been beaten to just exit the game (so that they aren't confined to wait until the very end of the whole match). for instance, one team feeds horribly and goes out after only 15 minutes of direct focus from the other teams, but the other teams stay relatively close for another 30 minutes. That first team to go out should be able to leave immediately after their loss and proceed to join a new match.

Saint Eunice2 votes

Im pretty sure your team can surrender at 20 minutes. if a team surrenders, only they leave the match, the other 3 can continue playing.

junglerboy162 votes

I don't even mean surrendering, I mean since it isn't "one team wins, one team loses" that there has to be a way that the team who's nexus blows up first doesn't need to wait for the other teams to beat each other before they can continue to the post game lobby and re-queue for another match.

For me it seems like good idea, no offense - but u know its Rito and u can forget about it :L

Doct0r Phil3 votes

I love the idea. It would be so much fun to see what the meta would become for a game mode like this. I imagine pushers would dominate this game.

Unfortunately, the snowballing in a mode like this would be absurd. Imagine a fed akali running around killing everyone. Sure, your team is smart enough to buy a pink ward or red trinket.....but the other teams don't.

Also, double the chance for grievers, rage quitters, intentional feeders, afk, and all the fun stuff we love so much in League. It's the few that ruin it for the majority sometimes.

When you clear a base, you keep your super minions, and all the minions will continue into the same lane they were from. Top lane goes through the base into the other top lane, and diagonal lanes go into the other diagonal lane.

Your minions would kill the inhibitor that gives your enemies super minions as they march through the defeated base, so it wouldn't snowball for one team I wouldn't think. The towers of the defeated teams would still function, as they are pretty indifferent to which team they attack, so they would do just as much fighting off the enemies of your enemies, as your turrets do at fighting off your enemies.

i can just imagine a team with all 4 baron buffs

The Lexer1 votes

I love this idea simply because its something more exciting and fun to play than a normal 5v5 (or hexakill)

Aspynn1 votes

Well this would be very cool, but how would the minion waves work? Once one team was eliminated, if minions stopped coming from their base, it would just be weird, I can't even exactly wrap my head around how it would work. But I really do love the idea of a multiple team map, and I really think that riot should try harder to make some good and well thought out new game modes/maps, and possibly just ditch dominion and tt all together. (My friend keeps trying to play tt but gets 5 other bots every game lol.)

The Loveless1 votes

My view of the safest meta would be 2:1:2:1:2 with 2 junglers. If the diagonal lanes get ganked, they'd have 2 players from top/bot and the 2 in the center lane, as well as jungle help on their side. Better than only putting 1 person top/bot who is furthest from every other team mate.

It's also more fun and engaging when you can interact with as many people as possible without having to traverse all the way to the other side.

gafratt1 votes

The biggest problem here is mid is GETTING 3X THE CS of other lanes. Other than that I want this.

Silverclaw1 votes

There's also 3 other people competing for all that cs.

coevke1 votes

Great idea, but which way would your minions go? Very unlikely to happen. item 3070

ChaosThief1 votes

Main problem would be having 4 barons and 4 dragons. If one team gets ahead enough they could take the 4 dragons at once.

2nd problem in this would be more major though: I believe riot said it was coded around 2 teams, so adding more teams would require a lot of work.

4v4? man fuck that, lets have a 50vs50 up in this bitch summoners rift 100x

Ancestor0071 votes

I hope you get past 1 fps and under 8000 ping

Moosimo1 votes

No... This would cause so much lagg, the q's would be far too long, and people would be bored when a game lasts about 2 hours.

Gengar1 votes

With this, the chance of an AFK / DC is more likely for every single game, which is something that won't be good in the long run. It looks fun but I cannot see it happening :(

DeynaTaggerung1 votes

Do you have any idea how silly that mid lane would look like? Four minion waves all crashing into each other (assuming 6 minions stays that's 24 minions all randomly attacking each other with 8 champions trying to last hit/harrass diagonally O.o

Maybe get rid of the mid lanes entirely and create a new jungle free for all area.
