ESPN3 is basically just a streamed channel, not a television channel so literally nothing changes. It is the same thing as streaming it on Youtube or Twitch, but with a different name.

Yup, pretty much this. It doesn't change that much. Plus they're just now having their worlds, and it's Valve, who have a lot more money to pay off ESPN with if they really want to. I still think League of Legends World Championships will pull more viewers in total.

It would help if anyone who watched ESPN3 understood DOTA2. I honestly can't make heads or tails of the map; I need to start watching that "DOTA for Noobs" twitch channel. Great news for esports as a whole, though.

Yeah, people get too focused on the DOTA2 vs Leauge of Legends thing. Any event like this raises the profile of eSports as a whole. Which is good for all eSports games.
