I feel like leona has be solid for a while now. She offers so much CC and can buff your teams auto attacks. With her Q being changed from 9/8/7/6/5 to 5 seconds at all ranks on patch 7.17, I feel like it pushes her into S rank tier of supports
I doubt it. She has to go all in and has no disengage. She won't be played.

Leona has no disengage so she will never be played. If you want a cc tank support there are other options that have escapes like Naut. Also ardent sensor is to strong so shielding and healing supports are favored. Also peeling supports are better right now and Leona is not known for her peel just for her set up and engage. She can peel but it is not as good as other supports. The Q cd is nice but is probably negligible. Its gonna make jungle Leona good though. An auto attack reset every 5 seconds that also stuns yes please. IF they want to make support Leona more better than she needs movement speed in her kit somehow. Maybe more base movement speed or successful hits of her passive give her a burst of movement speed or when she hits champions with her aoe shield damage ability it grants her a burst of movement speed.
She goes in, she either dies with her ADC or the enemy dies, pro players believe it or not hate that side of the coin. Pros don't want to play all in champions with no real disengage, it's pretty much like saying "Oh, this car is really fast and good but has no brakes" no one in their right mind will drive/play that specific car/champion. DO I think she will be played in the future tournaments/Worlds to be specific - Yes, I think the LPL/LCK teams will actually find ways to use her into their style. LPL mainly because well, it's the LPL they fight, fight, fight 24/7 and LCK because they always seem to have those champions under the Western scene noses, that they personally don't think about.
So Yes, I do think we will see her in the future tournaments, mainly at Worlds in my opinion

Her issue has never been her spell cd's. Supports like taric, thresh, braum, naut either basically match her early tankiness or exceed it. And they are generally far safer to play without sacrificing much playmaking potential. Braum and thresh can simply q to get off basically the same cc as leona without having to overextend to do so. Leona faces more danger from ganks and counter-ganks. She is basically useless from behind. She really needs to have her durability increased until it exceeds that of all other support tanks since she has to commit to the engage more than they do. Then she may see some pro play. Until then, probably not; maybe a test game here or there.
