Good news is he sounded ok when I saw him last night. I'm personally looking forward to his puns today.
I can't remember whose stream I was watching the other night (I believe it was Riv's, but can't 100% remember), but someone asked his opinion of Phreak and he said that he admires the man's work ethic. Said he doesn't often call in sick and when he does he still works from home. So I'd imagine it was Phreak's decision to stay in and cast, even if it might've hurt his voice more, which like you said deserves major props.
I definitely hope it's feeling better for this week, though!
