IMT Picks vs Echo

Couldn't huni dominate that echo fox fiora if he picked quinn? I mean it was a weak team and that fiora was no darshan. Why the panth. Sorry, kind of a fan of his plays with Quinn and I wanted to see him go 4 wins.

Because he has a large champion pool and wanted to try Pantheon in a good matchup in an easy match.

Because so far his performances on Quinn against top teams are bad. Useless when he was vs CLG and useless when he was vs C9. After such bad performance on Quinn (even though it's against the top teams), I can see why he'd be discouraged to play her again.

So he couldn't dominate that echo fox fiora? I think he would have had a good game against them.

Quinn is a very tough champion to play correctly in a composition. NA is particularly bad at it, and that's why you see Fiora have such an absurd winrate in NALCS.

Quinn is very good at three different things, but if you mess up just one of those things there is a good chance she will be shit, and good teams will try to force/bait out mess ups which are much more punishing on a champion like Quinn. Those three things are A) lane dominance, B) split pushing, and C) flanking. In game 1 of ROX vs SKT, we saw SKT position so that their flanks were extremely well accounted for, and every time Smeb tried to dive the backline he would get singled out and killed, allowing Bang to clean up the rest of the fight. Ezreal in particular is good at denying Quinn flanks because how easy it is to deactivate the ultimate with his Q and deny burst/gap closer. In CLG vs IMT, Quinn failed to exploit his strong laning, Huni losing lane as Quinn vs Fiora was honestly just flat out terrible. However, he did get extensive gank pressure, and with a Quinn on the team you should definitely be focusing on relieving that lane of jungle presence. CLG denied him his condition A, and it pretty much won them the game. If IMT played around their Quinn condition (kappa), Quinn would have easily been able to deny the Fiora splitpush.

For the record, Kindred comps are also extremely tough to pull off.

I get that part but what do you mean by

"If IMT played around their Quinn condition (kappa), Quinn would have easily been able to deny the Fiora splitpush."

During the game you saw that Quinn was usually sent to match the Fiora split push. Because Quinn was supposed to be IMT's split push, but because Fiora was so far ahead of the Quinn, Quinn could no longer handle Fiora in the 1v1. Quinn was specifically picked to handle the Fiora in the 1v1, but because CLG put so much pressure on her in lane that she didn't get to be a lane bully (and Huni wasn't good enough to actually bully that lane somehow). A Quinn who is behind is basically a Soaz who is behind they'll just keep on feeding.

just watch some Vit games on Quinn...they currently are most likly the smartest team in the world when it comes to absuing Quinn for lane/pressure-control - so even a Quinn that doesn´t snwoball can contribute hugly. It just shows that IMT still lacks some strategical finesse.

iamleburk1 votes

The thing is Quinn takes a lot more strategical finesse than teams expect, especially when the enemy forces you to reveal more "finesse" than you actually have with the champion. SO she actually might bait good teams into playing her and then when other teams play to counter her, they don't know how to work around that counter (and there are workarounds, they are just really hard to pull off).

I´m just pointing out that it doesn´t only show that obviously their 1v1 plan didn´t work out - but also that IMT lacks depth in their strategy, so far they have been winning so they plan to win by...winning. IT´s all nice and good in a snowball meta, but it won´t get you far vs really good teams.

Well they lack the strategic depth to pull of a good quinn comp, there are plenty of other comps that they would be able to pull off and some that they indeed have pulled off. For example, there was a game earlier in the split that was NRG (poke comp) vs IMT (hard engage) and IMT certainly played it well.

But huni overall did well against darshan right? Even though he was behind he still managed to step toe to toe against fiora and defend no?

iamleburk1 votes

No he didn't at all he got solokilled trying to stop her splitpush.

with the help of others.

You don't think at all that Quinn was toe to toe with Fiora several times despite the fact that Huni was behind with Quinn?

iamleburk1 votes

No help of others, i said solokill, I meant solokill, huni got solokilled by the fiora. If Huni really was "toe-to-toe" with the Fiora, Zion wouldn't have been able to splitpush to victory.

It's not about his mechanics or champions power, it's about Huni's confidence in playing Quinn being low after some heavy losses on her.
