And I'm guessing the fact that they immediately started playing Legends Never Die didn't help Faker much either.

Be humble in victory and defeat, it's a sport, you cant win everytime, he played great he should be glad he had this unbeatable reputation but no one is perfect and it is a TEAM game, he cant solo carry every time. Maybe he will try to better himself now that people will not over hype him all the time as a god of league

DariusDemiurge11/4/2017, 10:28:08 AM27 votes

He can blame the shit patch they were forced to endure. Disgusting of riot.

Osbeorn11/4/2017, 10:17:50 AM24 votes

I thought it was just silly by faker, he's already won so much.. losing for once is not something to be so upset about. Especially when SSG were clearly better today.

It's ok to feel bad for him, but don't feel too bad.

The last time Faker and SKT lost they became so strong as a result that they swept Worlds several times after.

I hate seeing Faker this sad, but I find solace in knowing that he needs this defeat to make him a stronger player and a person, and in turn bring him more success.

Red Mage11/4/2017, 10:28:37 AM13 votes

I personally love seeing Faker like that, him & his team are super cocky. I do not feel bad/sorry for him what so ever.

Mysticman8911/4/2017, 10:19:36 AM11 votes

Yeah that feels bad. His very identity for years now has been the very best league player of all time, and I can imagine he feels like if he's not that, then what is he?

Which is not to say that he's not still the best player of all time, but I doubt he feels that way right now.

Lithium Rosa11/4/2017, 1:38:50 PM11 votes

Faker, as a legend, did not die. He is still playing better than** everyone on this planet** and he is still a legend after 4 years. But there's only one faker, as upsetting as it is, you just can't find a whole team that can keep up a legend as long as faker himself.

Smitty Manjensen11/4/2017, 11:09:29 AM9 votes

Wasn't he also kind of a dick for saying something similar as he hopes to finish it by the third match so he can go eat? If you act that cocky you kinda deserve this.

This image of Faker will become an icon. No team is the best forever. No player reigns supreme until they don't.

Honestly, from a psychological point of view, I cannot say that I am surprised to see him react like that.

When someone is used to win year after year, one does not really know anything else. And looking at Faker after he wins, when he rises from his thro...ehm, chair, you can see the - okay, I will admit I cannot truthfully say which expression it is, but it does look like either smugness or (somewhat forced) casual expression on his face.

But when one is consistently singled out with a godlike-status, and kept hailed as "the best player in the world", that is something that a person eventually takes to heart and begins to believe himself. When, and this is something that WILL hit every sportsman, finally facing defeat, that would be the equivalent of a powerful fist to the face.

I got nothing against Faker, but I must say it was refreshing to see SKT T1 lose. And bluntly put, I think it was a healthy reaction. If he really cried, as I've read a few places, so what? Sorrow, with tears, is only a natural reaction when failing to achieve a goal which many hundred hours has been put into. While I can only guess at the actual emotions of the SKT T1 team, I don't see anything wrong with the reactions.

I can only hope Faker cried, if that's what he actually did, over not winning the championship - and NOT over failing to meet the expectations of the crowd and whatever burdens of demanded victory that was placed upon him by either himself or others.

As Sky Blower points out here:

It is not surprising that they lost, so I guess Faker is blaming himself. He really needs a rest. He put too much pressure on himself.

That is so true! The immense psychological pressure that goes on after having won everything they compete in, it's a wonder they didn't take the defeat harder than they did.

Furthermore, before next years championship, I suspect the SKT T1 team will either have gone through some serious changes...or they will come back as the same team and dominate absolutely EVERYTHING!

On a personal note: I'm glad we'll be getting a Worlds skin on my own main now: Lulu.

still the best player in the world. Unfortunately this is a team game. I hate to see you like this bro; feel better.

Dokueki Kenshin11/4/2017, 1:46:38 PM8 votes

Hopefully he takes this as a humbling experience and learns from it. Hopefully the team uses this as motivation to come back stronger.

you win some and you lose some that's apart of sports

MysterQ11/4/2017, 10:15:29 AM7 votes

It must be like the first B I ever got in school (All the way until grad school).

The good news, the first B did not kill me. The bad news.... the second B DID kill me.

I felt sorry seeing him like that. I was glad they didn't show him emotional too much. No need to zoom on it.

Huni - I don't know what else would he need. He was put ahead by Faker/Peanut in Game 2 and did nothing with it. Same for Game 3, and makes me wonder if people were just telling him to group instead of split pushing. May not have been his fault if he was told to not use that advantage. Really strange...

**Peanut **- Serviceable Jungler, put Huni ahead in Game 2, just did what he had to. Sad that SKT turned him into a moving ward from his carrying days in ROX. Not sure what happened there but I don't think he was hardly the reason why things went south.

Blank - Overrated. He's not Bengi, I'll tell you that much.

Faker - Best player in the world and in the game's history. Carried his team through MSF, RNG and should be proud of his legacy.

Blank - He may not be Cody Sun, but I have no idea what he was doing all series long. He was crushed by Hans Sama. He didn't look much better against Ruler.

Wolf - Became a Rakkan-One-Trick in playoffs and nothing else. Move along.

CLOSING THOUGHTS: Keep Peanut/Faker, remove everyone else. Get another Jungler besides Peanut. Get either Smeb or Khan for Top, and Deft/Mata/Pray/Gorilla (any of them) for Bot Lane.

Faker deserves a team that he doesn't have to carry 1v9.

I never wanted SKT to win, but it's sad seeing him like this

Dimwitt11/4/2017, 10:17:30 AM5 votes

What was worse was hearing him sob into the mic. Dude needs the biggest of bro's and something to drink so he can bounce back.

General Esdeath 11/5/2017, 9:46:31 AM5 votes

He realized his mistake of not eating before the game and how reddit is gonna meme that quote for life.

ZyniX11/4/2017, 5:35:18 PM4 votes

I'd rather be Faker then Huni though. The first year Huni is on the team they don't win worlds and lose 0-3.

Shield Boi11/4/2017, 10:41:01 AM4 votes

telling you now..that loss will make him stronger next season. count on it

spirit cooking11/4/2017, 12:27:06 PM2 votes

U didnt have to spoil it. Most people would leave the title ambiguous as to who won in the title.

Honestly fustrated i didnt get to watch without seeing this.

Pretty lame bro
