Synergy in team play over rides individual play greatly

You do realize Febiven was only masters in korean solo queue? And Yellowstar was only plat. Meanwhile TIP Rush was #1 in korean solo queue and C9 crushed them. Rank of an individual doesn't mean much in competitive play.

While I agree that soloQ ranking is not that important, Febiven reached like top 50/60 in KR Challenger while duo q'ing with Rekkles, and Yellowstar did not play on the brand new diamond MMR account that Riot gives to the players when they bootcamp and he played on one of his previous season accounts with decayed rank, if you want to be precise

LOL WUT?

These guys have been like 1 month in Korea for bootcamping and have coming in Europe for like 1 week before Worlds started in which they had to absorb jetlag and prepare themselves for the Worlds, plus they are yet fully focused on Worlds for 2 weeks

It's a joke to look at EUW current ranks of these players

That's not the point. The point is, to think every single pro player that goes into a boot camp has to be challenger or they are just bad is a stupid way of thinking. So saying things like Balls is a trash Diamond 2 player when a lot of other players were just about where he was is stupid.

The whole "Balls is a Diamond 2 player" thing was just an argument that the Riot caster was using to underline the fact that Balls wasn't very good mechanically in comparison with the competition, which was true given his S5 performance, but the argument was not that correct given the non super relation between performance in soloQ and performance in pro scene, and then became a running meme Stop taking it as a bigger/different thing than what really is
