Suddenly annoyed @ Riot for Quarterfinals Location
Worlds announced it would be in US (Not North America, let's face it), so I'm really hyped to go b/c its the closest I've ever gotten to an eSports event. The story goes and tickets sell out before I can get one. Disappointed, but I understand. Shooting for the secondary selling day sometime in early September. Fast forward a week or two, and I'm surfing the web, and I look @ the stadiums/locations Worlds will be in. Then I see the capacities. First off, 7,000 people for San Fran. Not bad, until I see Chicago. 3,880 people. Seriously? You pick a city in a region that never really gets any League esports events, then pick a a location that has the fewest amounts of seats. Really Riot? Is that the best you can do in the Midwest? Oh sure, the finals and semifinals, who have traction in Major cities in the US (NYC and LA, respectively) can have 18,200ish each, but you expect a sixth or less would go to a semifinals? Yes, I understand there are 4 days in Group Stage and Semifinals, but you could've at least ramped up the Capacity in each city to make sense. I'm 90% sure that people who were getting tix where probably going to buy Chicago tix, but that's not happening. This is one of my few complaints about Riot, but seriously, next time its NA, pick locations big enough
