Soon (possibly), esports will be allowed at olympics, so I wonder if people on the board agree that esports should be at the olympics. Lets say for example the best team in the world TSM (No fanboy hehe) was against SKT at the olympics... approve or disapprove?

I'm happy nerds can make money (little jealous I'm not good enough) with thier gaming skills but I hope to never see video games at an official Olympics event.
Edit: though I assume will will see it since it might be a cheap cash grab by the Olympics committee.

A) The olympics have done nothing but ruin the economies of the countries they've touched (will link an article at the bottom about what's happened since the Rio ones), thus you kinda have to ask if you really "want" something like this at there
B) Even if "Esports" were added to the olympics (which even then, would be rather complicated as unlike swimming there are different ones requiring different skillsets), I see esports benefitting far less than the olympics will off this deal, as barring the opening ceremonies the viewerbase for olympic sports tends to be quite shallow.

Miror B1 votesEven then, doing so would kinda ruin the "globalness" of it and could potentially destroy those economies, with how shaky they are. The fact the olympics even continues to exist somewhat baffles me, as it put brazil into a recession, exacerbated (probably spelling this wrong) Britain's when they hosted it in 2012, and dating back to the 1960's has reduced the GDP of the host countries by an average of 6%. The fact the IOC is trying to get esports involved in the first place seems like a desperate move to grab younger fans and remain relevant, as they could've done this for years but only chose to do it recently.

woodvsmurph1 votesCountries just go way too overboard with making everything fancy. And tickets are so expensive that few people go. Make tickets more affordable and keep expenses lower. Like perhaps establish a rotating list of cities to host the games - one per country so they don't have to build new arenas and facilities every 4 years. And like people on the board have suggested, make sure the country can afford everything and get it built SAFELY in time. Like before a new country can host the games, they must already have the facilities made or something. So China, U.S., Australia, Germany, Russia, Britain, etc. who have already hosted the games and have facilities could be on the rotating list of hosts, but someone like North Korea (bad example; just saving time not looking up what countries haven't hosted olympics yet) would not be able to host since they don't have the facilities made/haven't hosted it yet. Once they made the facilities, then they could enter voting to see if world wants them to host games.
