Gold Shift Events - Capturing Major In-Game Shifts - League of Analytics

Hey,

we created a new metric that captures significant gold swings within a game. Here is the post where I explain the statistic in more detail: http://league-analytics.com/2016/06/02/gold-shift-events-capturing-major-game-shifts/ We are looking for some feedback, so please let us know what you think.

Thanks, Timbolt

Why does this not have more up votes?

meh to bland and general to be of any use. You have weird data points that are not telling the tell of end of the season. Both TSM and CLG broke IMT after the half way point of the season. The piece talks about the dominate 4th place team.

Also the best teams can win with lower gold totals which will mean less gold shift events over all. Starve strategies also should not show as a event either since it is lack of team fighting. Changes in patches and itemization or meta champions can effect game play styles which effect the numbers also.

Over all could be interesting in very specific views. games where upcoming opponent are compared to the same past recent opponent. EXAMPLE CLG and TSM are both going to be in finals but they both played a public match again IMT recently and could look for differences between those games.

My end view on this is that it could be used by analysis in very specific situations. Current pretension makes the information unusable and ruins the idea as a whole.
