The entire worlds was amazing, the variety of picks, strategies and clash of metas
Did you watch the same games? The first two were drubbings. Boring. Only SKTs game 3 start brought any life to it.
the entire worlds and everything was great , the scenario was great and everything but you cant say the final wasnt boring to watch , ssg long boring strat , blank underperforming and bang throwing game 3 alone twice in a row ... And Faker picking karma sucks , he cant carry with this type of champ , when u see such a player you prefer seeing carries or at least playmaking champs , karma was for ardent but still ... at this point go ardent orianna . ( maybe she was banned dont remember ) . But i mean this year SKT was actually all about Faker he carried them almost alone to worlds , and then to the finals with sometimes Huni having great games and others were he is completly useless , not consistent enough sadly . Tho he was probably the best player of the whole finals . I mean i like SSG tbh but the way they play is actually boring you cant deny that , these worlds were great , lots of different picks such as leona or blitz , yasuo , singed , urgot , nasus , nocturne ... probably the best worlds of all time tbh , but the final was actually boring asf , its not deniable .
Oh Come on you Negative Nancy's, all teams have the same chances are on the same meta with the same challenges...the game was played the best team won, hands down.
Riot had a boosted bot centric meta to nerf faker undirectly so there would be more chances to see another team win for a change
Duuude one of the games had first blood at 26 minutes in. It was just a slow, methodical choking. It's a well played piece of league of legends, sure, but it really was boring to watch.
I fell asleep (Not really, by the start of game 3 I fell asleep). SG had SKT by the balls the entire game...all 3 games. Nothing exciting happened. SG Just methodically took objectives until SKT lost every single time. I am not saying it wasn't a skillful match on SG part; it was. However it made for very dull gameplay outside of admiring SG's rotations and vision control.
Honestly I think SKT needs a new coach, those draft picks were terrible. It was beyond me why they don't prioritize Galio and Janna while banning MAlzahar so Faker could actually do something, rather than focusing on the Varus Lulu combo that did nothing for them... the jungler also did nothing of note
It's funny how you know someone didn't watch finals at all when they say stuff like "SSG just dominated them the whole time" or "the first two games were just drubbings"
Game 1 we have Kennen, and AD one! Game 2 we have Yasuo, and game 3 we have Faker carrying in Karma. Can't see why anyone would think this final is boring.
Wait come on... that was a really boring Worlds Finals. The narrative up until then was great. There was the group stage with Fnatic's 4/0 week 2 winstreak, Gigabyte Marines almost making it, NA's greatest teams choking in week 2 except for the meme team Cloud 9, China showing up huge with WE and especially RNG, and Korea dominating as normal. Then SKT has an amazingly close match against MSF (showing that the gods can bleed), and then they have another tough series against the top LPL team RNG but still pull through, and on the other side SSG pulls the miracle upset against Longzhu and then beats WE in a 3/1. The level of competition is amazing. You have the reigning Champions who have demonstrated their incredible adaptability in multiple series, and then you have SSG the dark horse who demolished other top tier teams in the knockout stage. The two titans square up...
and you get a 3/0 stomp for SSG. The first game was a sleeper. Nothing happened in the first game aside from a slow, controlled domination of the map by SSG. SSG played very well, but that does not mean the match was not utterly boring. The second game was more exciting, especially considering the Yasuo pick and the fact that more fighting happened, but it wasn't a particularly exciting game despite the comeback. SKT got moderately ahead then got demolished. Now everyone is expecting SKT, the masters of 5 game series, to adapt to SSG's strategy and pull off a win. Nope, they make a protect the Tristana comp and Bang underperforms. That's not to say the game wasn't exciting; no, it was definitely the most exciting game of the series. The problem is that it was an unexciting end to a series. There was no game 5, there was no game 4, and there was no real game 1. SKT improved with every game, but the series didn't last long enough. Game 1 was awful, SKT improved a bit and game 2 was better, SKT improved even more and game 3 was better, and in game 4 SKT impr- wait no, there was no game 4. It was just an unsatisfying end to an unsatisfying series. I don't feel like SKT showed what they were made of. It's like SSG caught SKT on a bad day.
