The loss of quality at MSI and the fail of advertising thus far.

From 2016's breathtaking MSI opener, to the hype inspiring Who will own the rift. To regional hype videos. None of this has come to 2017 msi. Why is this?

One thing that is quite obvious is Riots lack of resources. Choosing Brazil was a major step down from China. Just look at the pathetic arena they are playing in. Or is it just that China is so good at production. If you watched their magical 2016 spring finals opener you would know just how amazing they are at putting on a show. But we have had almost 0 advertisements and 0 hype videos and that who will reign was so pathetic it was unbelievable.

Moving on to the actual League of legends esports page. I have often been shocked at the massive lack of articles. It shocks me that they don't have enough writers to write about the matches, speculation, or generally anything. The posts are few and far between. Oh here is an example. 10 thoughts about going into week whatever. Here we get, basic idiot thoughts sprawled out in like 3 sentences. Then the match of the week is fairly detailed. All should be detailed. Its almost time for TSM to play. Shocked there is no article about how TSM prepared for msi, there thoughts on the match they get. Nothing.

MSI has so far received very little attention. I blame the advertisements for the event and the location. I desperately hope with the arrival of the bigger named teams we will get some new articles and videos to get people prepared for the tournament. Or maybe china ruined us. Last years opener was so excited. Some of my college frat brothers who walked by my dorm saw it and came in to watch. OR maybe they are hiding it for the start of group stage. Who knows? God i just hope skt and WE and all the greats don't have to play in that pathetic arena. I hope that was just for the play in stage. If not LOL what a massive drop off from last year. MSI looks like freaking IEM now...

Here are some links to get you pumped for MSI a little more. Even though they are from last year. This.....is how you generate hype for the second most important tournament of the year!

Sorry for all the negative feedback. But it comes from my passion for league and my desire for it to continue to awe and inspire. MSI last year showed me just how incredible it can be. I hope it returns to form.

See, for me despite all of the stuff you mentioned (the lack of advertising), it's still blowing me away on the quality of matches so far. Canids vs dire wolves from yesterday was arguably one of the greatest matches we've seen in the entirety of 2017 (multiple baron steals and outplays), and the crowd has shown little actual bias towards teams while even cheering the other regions at times, the same not being said for certain worlds-hosting regions from last year. While there might be less viewers, based on what I've seen so far they're definitely missing a lot as even though they're supposed "wild card regions" they're still playing high-quality games with more character diversity, something that people have been bitching about for a while.

MSI is delivering so far in a big way though

for me the red candids promo really wanted to make me root for them, i want to see them win and upset the big-guns and rock the very foundations of LoL.

MSI has not started yet, the current thing is just the preliminary round. The wildcard were fighting to see who has the chance to fight NA and LMS. The video above only works once you know which teams will enter MSI. I do agree that after the first round ended they should have immediately done some hype for LMS and NA, but could be waiting to put in the wild cards, since they did not know which team would enter. They got me to watch wildcard games, so I am already watching more league that I thought I would, and I think once MSI truly starts they will put out the other stuff.
