My theory is so that NA can see what's good, what's bad, what works and what doesn't within the scene so the players can scout for themselves. It's what NA does best #copypaste

~~Can't honestly say on that. I mean the start dates have been known since the end of All Stars. It's also been known that the LCS and LEC are marketing themselves as their own leagues. If anything that's probably the main reason; to not package the two as the same like it's always been. ~~

~~The most honest response I can think of is due to the new settings that happened in LCK and LEC with LOL Park and the new LEC studio, Riot's eSports division - still predominantly American based - set a week aside to focus on those maiden voyages if their domestic departments needed it. This also could assume that nothing too big is going on in LCS other than a revamped stadium which more time may have been needed given the effort of All Stars and it not being in the LCS Studio. ~~
