If TSM is the best NA has to offer, then it's gonna be a massacre for the region at Worlds.

CLG looks pretty strong, and each of their players have deeper champion pools. Hopefully CLG goes to World's as well

CLG should 3 - 0 the finals, for how they've been playing. But it's NA. #5 beats #1 of the regular season just like that so... I don't know, could go either way, but I give it to CLG totally.

Really don't think that TSM will struggle with CLG.

LOL, the same thing just happened in China and it was 3-0. But I guess that's only bad when it happen in NA...

Except that..... the TSM squad that showed up to playoffs was nothing like the one that limped through the end of the regular season. I thought that Regi was fos with his "we are trying stuff. we will get it worked out for the playoffs because I am personally involved now".... but he wasn't.

TSM have a very Solo Queue esque playstyle right now. If they are where they are right now, is because of good individual performances by Bjergsen, Wild and Dyrus. Which is fine, but that style will only get you so far. Look at the length of their games, and how back and fourth they are. The team is very unorganized and very deficient when playing around neutral objectives. CLG right now feels more like a unit, and they should just take the series with no problems. But it's NA, so anything could happen.

Yea, I am not guaranteeing a TSM win or anything..... All I am saying is that saying that the #5 seed beating the #1 seed means that NA is %&$ is completely missing what has happened in the last 6 weeks.

In terms of TSM v CLG, I think that JG will be the key. I give CLG a moderate edge in bot lane and TSM a small edge mid. In the past I would have given CLG a pretty big edge top lane but Dyrus is playing really well right now.

XMithie has a tendency to do some really stupid stuff (eg face check brushes on Eve). Santorin seems more solid at the moment. If JG plays out like that, I would expect a close win for TSM.

Like I said, it's NA It's not like Korea where you KNOW SKT Will be up there, or EU where OG, FNC and H2K are the definitive top 3.

Here you get #5 beating #1 and CLG in their first finals ever. Also the whole C9 fiasco happened. The region is super inconsistent. I still feel CLG should 3 - 0 the series. But then again, it's CLG. They always lose to TSM, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the entire reverse and TSM won 3 - 0 or 3 - 1 as they tend to do.

You keep bringing up the fact that they're #5 but thats pretty irrelevant. Yes, they came #5 in regular season but they've also been #1 in champion points all season and are the first NA team to qualify for worlds, they were actually almost guaranteed their spot even if they didnt make finals. If they were truly a #5 team, they'd have no championship points, they wouldn't have even been close to worlds last year and they wouldn't have won summer split (or all the splits they won in previous seasons).

TSM does play like solo queue. They don't. What they do it allow/make Bjersem win the game for them. TSM game is to buff up one person an let them will. That not always Bjersen but if it not Bjerson is the major support of that person.

Somehow you managed to misspell Bjergsen three different ways in one post.

That's so stupid to say. Like if TSM goes to worlds because they won the best split, that means they are the best choice to represent us. Do you know how stupid it sounds ? I can understand if TSM doesn't win both splits and goes to world to represent NA. But if TSM is the best team in NA regardless of how they do in worlds, it is the best choice for them to go then the team that lost to them.

I understand that TSM play a very mediocre game compared to squads from other regions. And the fact that they are in the finals says a lot about the region.

I have to agree NA looked really bad second split. After MSI have an of the teams improved and we saw what happened there. Anyway EU still doesn't look much better other then FNC and maybe and just maybe origin.

S2C2Xd9KOy1 votes

Everyone realizes other regions are better than NA, but its because thats why TSM plays against. They don't have to be better than they are because they have consistently been the best team in NA. They don't play in Korea and Europe, they have no competition. For example, if you were an 18 year old swimmer and you were really good, but you started only competing against like 9 year olds. Yeah, you'd always win, but you'd never improve. How do you expect TSM to beat Korean teams when they have no easy way to improve?

Yordle Xayah1 votes

In that you are entirely right. Thing for me is as follows: Yes, I may a FNATIC follower since Worlds Season III, but I play in NA, and I would really like to see some major improvement from the entire region as a whole. I wanna see the teams from my region perform better. I'd so much prefer EU and NA to be fighting at Worlds for the top spots instead of always the asian teams.

To that, I wish I had the answer to improve NA's overall level. I don't remember what coach they asked the question, but it was something like...

Q: People say NA is the worst region, what do you think? A: Yeah, but who cares. It's not even worlds.

That kind of mentality I think is a sad one. A part of me feels that if C9 or TSM didn't attend Worlds, someone somewhere would want to shake things up, but that may be a bit too extreme. Regardless of the CLG game and what I think of TSM's current level of play, stuff like Reggi stepping up and being hands-in is more of what the region needs.

I don't hate TSM, super FAR from it. I just wish they were able to improve beyond solo-plays, but yeah, I don't have the right answer to that. Didn't mean to come across as pretentious with my original posts, apologies if they seemed to be that. I just feel that if EU can improve, I'm sure NA can also update the overall style and team play.

CLG got LS9 as their new coach, which I think is a really big part of their improvement. Believe it or not, I think TDK had a really big effect on the region this year. If I recall correctly they lost literally all of their bans up until I believe the very last week of the spring split when they actually had their team. Ninja and Emperor couldn't actually attend LCS for almost the entire split/season because of either like passport issues or something else, so as fair punishment TDK didnt get any bans because they had to use subs and they had no coordination, and then they won like their last 4 games with picks that weren't even super serious, like they played Draven in one game and they actually kicked ass because they had their team and they actually got to ban.

What I'm getting at, is TDK gave like 16 free wins this season, which obviously changed the positioning of the ladder. The fact that C9 and NME pretty much gave free wins as well affected the ladder.

In an interview, Regi said that TSM was doing poorly in the split because they were almost guaranteed a spot at worlds and they wanted to try new things, and I believe them, even though half the time thats the excuse people make for losing (although he didnt blame entirely that, the entire team admitted to poor performances). They also took a few games to try Keith on ADC and they obviously wouldn't have the same chemistry as with turtle.

What Im trying to say is I dont think TSM actually really tried because they knew they had worlds basically locked down because of their lead in Championship points and the fact that they really wouldn't have to win that many games to qualify for worlds, and there were 3 ways to qualify, so they could've done whatever they wanted and still made it.

I wish NA was better too. You'd think it would be one of the better servers because of the quantity of players, but I suppose it holds true that quantity isn't always better than quality. Its also the most toxic server apparently. LS9 explained Koreas toxicity in literally one sentence lol. He typed "you're a fucking idiot. /mute" and said thats as far as it went, and said that you'd never be reported, no matter how toxic. As long as you dont afk or feed and fuck up their game, they dont care what you say, as long as you dont cause them to lose LP lol.

I really dont know how NA could be fixed lol. I think the issue is people care way too much, but at the same time dont care at all. Like under platinum it seems like theres more typing and insulting than actual playing. Like one player goes 0/2 in lane, gets yelled at then the entire team fights. Like instead of just muting them and playing they'd rather fight. I feel like more people play the game just to scream at someone rather than actually make progress lol

If half of this makes no sense and theres bad grammar and repetition, its because Im tired and Im not willing to read over this to make sure everything Im saying actually makes sense, so yeah..

I wonder what will happen next year that some old pros seem to want to retire. I wonder if that'll shake things up. Only time will tell.

S2C2Xd9KOy1 votes

With hai leaving the team pretty much fell apart, then meteos joined.. then left... and then hai came back? but mid? and the team still played bad, but better! Sneaky actually wants to leave, thats how bad it is lol.

TSM is most likely losing Dyrus unless he changes his mind. Whether this is good or bad, who knows. If he does leave however, TSM pretty much has top pick on any former LCS team member or Challenger player they want because, well..theyre TSM. Maybe it throws them off, maybe it makes them better.

I dont really know of the rest. XiaoWeiXiao is on a temporary retirement of course ;) I dont think too much will change though. It doesn't seem like NA is super competitive tbh. As I said, it just seems kinda like everyone is like "well we're playing tsm gg" and they're just expected to win. Thats not even me being an LCS fanboy, I dont even watch a ton.

I actually hate eSports as a whole (the team eSports makes me fucking sick. You're not playing a sport, its a game. Sport: noun 1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc. 2. a particular form of this, especially in the out of doors.

Sure, video games might require skill, but Im sure you can get a lot better at video game, much faster than you can with an actual sport. Theres also almost no physical requirement or training needed. As an actual athlete, I find it almost offensive people who play video games for a living are called athletes lmao

I can't wait for the MLG LCS quickscopers to reply with butthurt comments after my opinion on the term Esports...

You guys deserve much more than what the team showed off today... TSM has a huge amazing fanbase. A real good shake up needs to happen in the team.

I actually have to disagree. TSM is looking the best they EVER have right now. The are better right now than they were when they won the international invitational. They finally got smart and changed their playstyle. Dyrus is playing like a GOD right now, which takes the pressure off of the rest of the team. Any team at Worlds that underestimates them will go down 3-0 for sure.

I say this and I don't even like TSM.

Inb4 Koreans and Chinese perma-ban Azir and Gnar, and TSM has an MSI repeat while whipping Wildturtle in the botlane with Lucian

TSM vs CLG will almost always be decided in champ select. I give a slight edge to CLG because they get decide which side to start first since they placed better. CLG 3-2 TSM
