My understanding is that its a sponsorship problem that comes with EU being multiple countries. The teams end up being based out of one country and struggle to find sponsorships from outside that country.
na is just a more popular area for esports i mean the riot company is born in na and made in na

What rekkles said is not correct, though. There are 3-4 traditional NA LCS orgs that could outbid Fnatic as said by Fnatic founder on twitter, really, and those were the major ones. NA talent got generally paid more than EU talent of similar level because the talent is rarer in NA, but the bottom of players in NA LCS were paid basically Riot minimum salary + housing on lesser orgs like NME The thing is that now in NA, like what happened in China, some new orgs backed by some super rich investors, are entering the LCS scene and are throwing a lot of money to take a shortcut and go immediately to the top, and these investors are American or have strong interest in American's market Not even traditional NA LCS orgs can compete with those teams like NRG and Immortals, either
doesn´t matter that much as long as Eu continues to produce new talent fortunatelly. I´d appreciate some kind of cap though, as i think money>scouting/building up new talent really ruins most sports in the long run.
me being from austria (living in germany now) i never had any friends irl that know any mmorpgs besides WoW. most didnt play games at all and knowing what a moba is was dream lol. esports is still a joke for most ppl here, lot of parents + kids be like "lol all fat ugly nerds they can play for a few month and will never get a job afterards" so yea. eu just lacks the huge support that na has which is sad.
and i cant blame anyone for leaving eu for money. you wont be a star player forever, you have to grab what you can get.
EU has its priorities straight as compared to NA in regards to sports, whether physical or esports.
