Why is Corki and Sivir so good in competitive play?

I honestly have been looking around the internet for a bit, and i haven't gotten a good enough answer that is up to date. But the title says it all. I'm seriously wondering. I know Sivir is op because of her ultimate, good aoe, good defense with spellshield, but maybe i am missing a hidden gem inside of the "Battle Mistress." As for Corki, all i can see is the poke, and the W escape and maybe the shred with e. But other than that, i haven't seen much from Corki. Thank you to whoever answers :D

Sivir is just generally hard to kill and she has good wave clear as well as hard engage or disengage depending how your using the ultimate.

waveclear.

If you clear waves faster than your opponents you can transfer that into outrotating them in the game pretty easily. Also, Sivirs ult is just phenomenal to get easy picks.

I think you hit the nail on the head as far as Sivir is concerned - the shoutcasters frequently highlight her ultimate's utility in speeding a team toward a good fight or away from a bad one, and that this utility remains whether she has a good laning phase or not. The fact that she has a relatively safe laning phase and can very quickly push lanes to either bully a lane or start a slow push in a lane before regrouping with her team are also high points in her kit that I've heard mentioned before (sorry I don't have links to these comments specifically, but I think they're frequently highlighted when casters discuss Rekkles on Sivir). She's a solid ADC that can sort of be left alone in lane and still be effective when teamfights start.

As for Corki though, I have no idea other than poke, like you said. His early powerspike with Triforce is the only thing I can really think of, and that if teams build around that to capitalize on it they can get an early advantage that has the capability to snowball.

ad casters were popular before so sivir comes back and its good for team fighting comps so you pick hec sivir ect and run people down. corki is mainly when people have nothing left to pick, have alot of ad, or is picked by bad teams. Dont think ive seen anyone play him in lck unless its under those circumstances

Sivir counter everyone because she has one of the best early game among ADC, that allow her to give some trouble even to the strongest champs in every meta and delay their powerspike giving your team more chances to win, and because her ulti and the spellshield give her huge utility across all the game even when her damage falls off, and and is countered by everyone because past early game she is the marksmen that deals literaly the least damage among all the ADCs, so she is always somewhat good as counterpick (sometimes she has also been good as a main pick, but this has been very rare and more the result of some team compositions becoming mainstream)

Corki has the low CD ulti that can be eventually spammed for tons of damage and his W for chasing/escaping, both things that always keep him someway in every meta in a spot where he can represent a reliable choice to rely on when you don't know what to pick (and it has also to be said that at times he has also been one of the hardes damage dealers around at various times). the mixed damage that makes him flexible for various team comp shouldn't be overlooked when talking about this too

Corki isn't good in competitive this split, his win rate atm is awful the same as Lucian's is.

His strength in the past was that he was able to hold a lane 1v2 to set up roams for his support player and still be CS competitive in the lane. He ends up being a janitor for teams with strong solo lanes because his hybrid damage type is severely impacted when opposing players build defensive items and reach higher levels.

sivir is good because of her ultimate, corki, not so much, only tdk picks him and they lost like every game.

Escape mechanics. It's all about not getting shit on instantly as an ADC.
