Pros with Skins

Riot, I'm not sure if this fault is on your side, but I feel like it is at least partially so.

I'm watching some of these worlds games and I can't help but notice a stark lack of skins! Why is this? Well, that was rhetorical, since that question is probably wrought with "pros don't care about skins, but about winning" type spam responses.

This is what I suggest.

When a pro team makes it to worlds, give them 10k RP to purchase skins of their choice. Or unlock a free skin for all their roles. Something.

Why do I care about this representation of skins? Well, two reasons.

One, from a business perspective, this is a missed opportunity. If the top tier players in a game are subtly saying "skins aren't worth it guys" then you're decreasing your business by ripples. Which is foolish.

Second, skins are supposed to be fun. They add flavor, character, and attitude to a game. And it's an easy way for pros to represent their style. We could have dragon teams, etc, just for kicks. I realize it's competitive, but it's also a game. Maximize the fun here.

Riot pls.

I'm pretty sure they unlock all skins for them already. Some use skins, not very often really but sometimes...but WARD skins are never used. I'd like to know what that's about.

Was thinking the same. At minimum riot should be "lending" skins to them for the games they're playing at world's. On one hand they probably have a lot of skins and just don't have them for every champion they play, but on the other there is no reason not to use skins in these games (and plenty of reasons to do so as you've illustrated).

They already have access to every skin.

I guess some pros prefer the vanilla look.

It's more than 'some' pros prefer the vanilla look. It's nearly every single one. I don't understand it. As mentioned, not even Ward skins. Why is this? I almost feel as though Riot should make it a requirement... it's definitely reduces the entertainment value of the sport.

The C9 vs Nws match there were 5 skins used. OMG vs LMQ 9 skins used. Do i need to go on? I am not sure where you are getting the idea none of them use skins.

Edit to add that I did a quick run through of all the games from Sept 28. All of them had at least 50% of the players using skins several games with more.

Only real person I've heard openly say skins are dumb is I think Faker. And Faker is a puritan.
