As we all know the Olympic games 2020 is scheduled to be played in Tokyo, Japan this year.

Worlds for Liga de Lehends has been played several times in some of the most popular regions: 3 times in LA, 2 times in Korea, 4 times in Eurochina.

Contrarily MSI has been played: 1 time in Florida, 1 time in Brazil, 1 time in Asia, and 2 times in Eurochina.

Japan has yet to host a major international tournament in Liga de Lehends, despite having numerous reasons to validate its viability:

  • Japanese players carried NA soloqueue talent toward becoming a major region before the Japan server was created.
  • The LJL has contributed gracefully to the success of international events thus far despite being broadcast as an incidentally wildcard region.
  • Reportedly, Japan has hosted in Takasaki City, a Liga de Lehends tournament of 2019 that caters to players with disabilities.

To highlight the points that warrant Japan's potential as an important potential host for international tournaments, consider as well that for the civilian public, nearby regional servers such as China or Korea are deemed inaccessible to those without a specified government permit, whereas contrarily Japan server allows civilian access.

Just my opinion, why not bring worlds or MSI to Japan? It would attract fans with a more accessible barrier-to-entry in terms of language groups, and furthermore give tournament participants from already-victorious regions a refreshing break-from-the-mundane in terms of having to constantly attend international tournaments in their home regions.
