Now time............. to look back

For everyone who watched summer lcs 2013 we all know what I am talking about. lcs in 2013 was by far one of the most interesting and beautiful years since it no longer was just tsm being the only NA hope. We had a group of people who stomped through the challenger series and even 2-0ed Complexity. But still people didn't exactly believe in them 100%. I mean they were just some no names named Cloud9. But then on that first day of games we saw their game against TSM and that was when we knew that this was the start of something epic. And then when that season ended and you saw them hugging it out after winning summer these are the words that Jatt said himself "this is a team that works together and likes each other" and it symbolized Cloud9 perfectly with their original roster. They faltered at worlds but the game that they won will still always be epic to me. And when they got back to spring what is the first thing they do? they pick teemo against TSM and win. They then manage to dominate after a shakier start this time around and take the split once again being undefeated in playoffs. Then Hai got hurt and we all wondered what was gonna happen. But considering their situation cloud9 played pretty well with Link on the team. And then we get to the summer split where I would say the level of competition was the highest it has ever been in NA. It was a split where there were so many teams that could've taken it. And what do we see again? a C9 TSM finals and while C9 didn't come out on top it was still an amazing split and an epic series. And then........ Worlds 2014, one of if not the best worlds of all time in my own biased opinion. TSM actually performed and made it out of groups (albeit to then run into SSW but w/e) and Group D came around. That was probably the craziest group ever in that so much more was at stake in that group based on a few games, From the game where Alliance perfect gamed NWS to Kabum beating Alliance. And to wrap it all up there was the C9 NWS game that was by far the most hype game of the group stages. I watched that and was freaking out tbh when I saw meteos start jumping around from the reset and also seeing that perfect Rumble ult (which made me main Rumble for a while tbh). And to see their elation afterwards was beautiful. And then when we got to semis and people thought C9 was gonna get swept like it was nothing. But then C9 took the first game with sneaky going off and people lost their minds. Along with that we got to see the Hai ninja moment that was downright beautiful. And while they lost it still was an amazing performance, especially with how close game 4 was.

Then we get to 2015 and it was truly a dark age for C9. They had a pretty bad record even though they still made it to playoffs, but then we get to playoffs and we see them reverse sweep TL and we all lose our shit. Then we get to the finals and honestly I was pretty devasted at how it all ended.

But looking back on it all, they were always a super fun team to watch and I loved every moment. I will always miss the original roster but will still always remember them. thanks for reading and have a good day

From here, the journey you take with Cloud 9 really goes down that fated fork in the road that you didn't want to have to take. Do you stay with the organization given all of their accomplishments and potential to continue to improve? Or do you go away with the old guard to FlyQuest and stay loyal to what the core of the roster had accomplished in reshaping the way the game in NA was played?

...or do you take the "road to dawn" and watch how both sides develop with the upcoming split? I probably fall on this one. History is nice and all. I just don't want to absorb it too much.

The rise of Cloud 9 was pretty much the best story line that Riot allowed to be scripted. Unfortunately, C9 did something to lose favor in Riot's eyes and now are only considered a 2nd tier team behind CLG and TSM.

I should add that this is tongue in cheek. I have no proof that Riot scripts, nor do I think it is a likelihood. It's just fun once in a while to consider the possibility, the same way they do with their weekly show.
