Just want to put that out there. this year we both only got two teams out of groups. and while yes H2K made it to semis, they won against ANX, who definitely was considered an easier opponent than SSG. and in the end both C9 and H2k lost 3-0 to them. not making this to say "hehe Eu so trash" but I am saying "hey, you cant talk shit to NA and we cant talk shit to you. mutual agreement?"

NA > EU, TSM 2-0 Splyce and CLG 2 -0 vs G2 (or 4-0 if you count MSI), NA won all the head to head games and had a better record in the group stage. We both failed miserably vs our korean overlords, but NA did do better than EU this worlds IMO. The only EU team that made it out of groups did not have to face any NA teams.

It's easier just to say Korea > Everyone.

Dear God, at least one NA summoner who has some sense. The facts are simple: KR >> everyone else, and bickering for scraps will not change the fact that there's only one trophy and neither of us got it.

Honestly every region not named "Korea" looked pretty much even this year. That's a good sign really as it means a few things:

  1. EU and NA are getting on par with everyone else.
  2. The infrastructure of competitive LoL is rounding out which should lead to closer games for everyone in the future.
  3. Wildcard teams like ANX will continue to have "surprise" showings as they adapt the same infrastructure, which will always make international events more fun to watch.

Combine that with H2K making it far into the tourney and NA having some really good games (despite not being able to close a couple key games out when they needed to) has made this year's Worlds a joy to watch. I don't think it's going to be 4-5 years before other regions can compete with KR like some people say, it's gap is closing pretty fast when you actually look at the metrics and analyze the games.

League of Legends Worlds Championship is kinda like Alien vs Predator. No matter who wins, The West loses.

I like this idea

I would say the top team from each region didn't do as well as they were expected. The others from those regions did alright considering.

Rox was expected to win but didn't. TSM, G2, and FW were expected to get to quarters at least but none did. Edg was expecting at least semis but they struggled in groups getting them matched up against a tough quarters opponent and they got knocked out.

Maybe if the top teams from the non-Korean regions played as well on the international stage as they do in their own league Korea would have a little more competition but none of them show up for some reason.

The only regions number 1 seed that surpassed expectations was the wild card.

Other then that it was just KR > all.

People are forgetting one thing. Teams like TSM and C9 have participated in every or almost every WORLDS. They are veterans to international scene. Europe had Splyce and G2 who are first time on worlds. H2K participated in last years worlds and this is their second WORLDS and they ended up in top 4. TSM with all their experience, 2 years in a row didnt manage to leave group stage. in S4 they didnt go further than Quarterfinals. And in s3 they were 12th place. C9 never went past quarterfinals. So yes. NA managed to beat EU firsttimers this worlds. But what have NA ever achieved on WORLDS?

I find it tiring that happens for the same reasons again: NA and EU always try to outpick the enemies instead of building a team or an anti-team.

I hate NA vs EU. IT DOESN'T MATTER. Korea is the enemy, not each other.

I support NA=EU.
