SKT Strat

SKT being reformed this year, I had a question about Huni, the guy who is world famous for top lane marksmans. Will SKT actually let him play champs like Quinn, Kennen, etc or will they say NO, tank only? Because Duke always played Tanks so I assume they will push the same strategy on Huni?

Good question! I would assume SKT will "make" Huni play more of the tank style because A. you can't/shouldn't die as often so the games won't steam roll faster and will give Faker/Bang/Wolf more time to develop as a team against other players/teams at the real level instead of just from scrims and/or solo Q.
I believe SKT will make Huni play more tank until everyone on SKT is familiar with each other as SKT has 2 new members to develop and guide under their wings.
Once everyone on SKT are familiar with each other say week 3-4 in the LCK or whenever they feel is the right to pull off a marksmans/carry champion top.

Who knows, they might shift their entire strategy as a team since Peanut and Huni played different than Duke and Bengi

Duke who played tanks where Huni likes ranged champs and Bengi who played supportive jungle playstyle but Peanut prefers an aggressive playstyle

It all depends on what Kkoma says but so far there is no words as to who they'll play

Duke Marin and Impact all played their fair share of carries. Impact has a skin for Jax, Marin has one for Renekton and played a decent amount of Fiora. Duke played a lot of Jayce and Irelia.

Huni has always been known to play a carry style, as shown in the games he's had in which even when he's down, he still does what he can to get ahead for himself or for the team. However, with the meta as it is and what it looks like it'll be for the 6.24/7.1 start to the LCK season, Huni may be relegated to playing in accordance to the tank top style if he plays over Profit.

As for the overall team aspect, he may need to adopt to a style in which the likes of Duke or Marin had played in that an aim to get his team ahead over just himself unless the game has to come dependent on him. That's probably one of the major doubts I have for SKT in the early weeks; having power players in 4 of the 5 roles somehow waves a bit of caution to me. Granted, Faker can play both sides of the game (carry and supportive) so it might not matter as much.

Marin and duke were known for playing carries top; marin in solo que and duke in competive. When the meta favored tanks they played tanks and when it favored carries they played carries, and this make me think that Huni will play whatever is best for the team be it a carry or a tank.
