Questions about LCS

hi im Godric·6/7/2015, 12:38:25 AM·2 votes·655 views

Hi, I don't watch LCS a lot but I think they are awesome and I have some questions if you could me with them please!

  1. Where is Hai I didn't see him today in c9 game, did he get kicked out???
  2. Where to get complete information about LCS, because I keep hearing about prime time, summer split spring tournment etc etc and i don't understand if these seasons are connected and leading to the big game or are they just different independent events?
  3. Does anyone lose or win? last time i watched LCS some teams had lots of wins and now everyone started from 0. This question is kind like Question #2 i am basically asking how the system of LCS works.

OK so here we go. the lcs is split into 2 seasons. spring split and summer split. it is also split by region, each region competing only within themselves except for a couple on international tournaments. after spring split (the one that just finished) there was IEM (a big tourney, international) then the Mid Season Invitational(international). after that summer split starts(totally fresh). the 2 splits are considered totally different in terms of contracts for players and such. after summer split, in October or November (i don't remember which) is Worlds. the final tourney were all the best of all the regions compete. oh and there is a point system based on how you do in your region, that dictates whether you go to worlds or not(don't know exactly how the point system works). i believe that is all you need to know.

And yes, Hai retired he was not kicked out tho. I believe he is a coach still tho.

  1. Hai stepped down rather than got kicked. He still is a part of the C9 staff.

  2. Best to read on lolesports or lolgamepedia, but I'll give you a bit of information.

  3. Yes, teams win, but there are two splits. The splits rules have changed a bit since last year, so it is understandable to be confused. The team who won spring split (Team Solo Mid) qualified for the Mid-Season Invitational event. They also get 90 circuit points to help them qualify for worlds. Whoever wins this split (summer split) automatically qualifies for the world championships. In the LCS, three teams are allowed per region to qualify for the World Championship. The first seed goes to whoever wins summer split playoffs, the second seed goes to whoever has the most circuit points, and the third seat goes to whoever wins the regional qualifier for the third spot.

TLDR; Hai became part of c9 management. The scores "reset" because the 1st split ended, now we are in the 2nd split. These splits do have an impact on other events. Lolgamepedia and lolesports tell you about LCS.

EDIT Here's a link explaining it: http://na.lolesports.com/articles/championship-points-unlocked-and-more-2015-lcs-changes

1: Hai retired. It was sad.

2: Each Saturday and Sunday for 9 weeks, there are 5 matches of teams against each other (this is NA LCS, EU is Thursday and Friday). After the 9 weeks, the top 6 teams play in a playoff system of sorts to see who wins the region. After that, there is a world competition (after spring it's MSI, after summer it's Worlds) to see who is the best in the world/what region is the best (spoiler alert it's Korea). The summer season has just started, so that's why everyone has so few wins.
