Bad news, Origen fans: sOAZ is likely to leave the organization.
That's prrrrobably gonna hurt their chances for the split, given that he's one of the few Origen players that can claim to have performed even moderately consistently.

News isn't exactly "new" (the score was reporting that both him and amazing had left the team since monday). I'm actually surprised that the entire team hasn't sold their spot/"disbanded" already, as their two best players already left the team/made worlds with another one and they clearly showed a massive flaw in management when it came to replacing them/finding a "good" head coach (if you include leduck returning, then they've had 5 in the past year alone). With teams like misfits in the EULCS, origen's at best going to finish in 9th unless they pick up massive amounts of talent, which as we all know from last season hardly guarantees "improvement".

Why they should disband? They have no financial problems, it's Peke team so they are alway going to be popular and attract sponsor as long as they defend their LCS spot With all the due respect, EU is not NA, if they do a good scouting job there are enough unproven talented players out there for them to be able to stay affloat waiting for better times, and heck, there are techincally a lot of good experienced free agants still available on the market + they have import slots open and available to use
There are teams in worse situation than them like Giants or ROCCAT (sadly because ROCCAT has been a good org)

The problem I have with them though is twofold: a) The talent they will be able to acquire isn't going to elevate them to the point in which they could compete for a playoff spot anytime soon (aside from roccat, they realistically aren't "beating" anyone next split unless they get ridiculously lucky and/or manage to pull off miracles in what is realistically a "dead" free agent market) , and b) Their reputation is so massive that it doesn't exactly make sense for them to continue. This is a team that was in the semis of worlds, with many saying that they would become the next "dynasty team". The fact that they're at least 2 years off of competing at worlds barring almost historically massive collapses from the rest of EU's teams won't bid well for their fanbase as although a few of them may remain loyal to peke them continuing to crash and burn after having what was easily the greatest start to a franchise in the history of LoL (hoping misfits does them one better next year) will only drive them away. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that the majority of the LCS fans would rather see no origen than one that has little hope of ever reaching the success they had a year ago.

Nah, this make no sense They have an outside chance to ever make playoffs in Spring... I mean, ROCCAT is weak, Giants had big internal problems at the time of regional gauntlet (which caused the situation where Splyce and Fnatic denied UOL scrims because Giants withdrawed from pre gauntlet scrims) and are not a rich organization so they are likely fighting to just keep the spot. Misfits are really talented but they have no experience, so they could immediately jump to the top ala G2 as well as doing a split ala Spring Splyce
Origen could pretty well grab a playoff slot, as much as they could get relegated if one or two teams underperform,as the free agent market is not dead as you think (again it is EU, not NA, there are lot more players outside of top teams available)
And the reputation thing is laughable, how much have been NA teams damaged by the fact that they have never been able to achieve at Worlds level what they promised to in NA? CLG has gone though times in the past when they faced the risk of relegation (the series where they reverse swept Curse Academy was not too long time ago, it was 2015 Spring promotion) and the fan have never abandoned them even in those times, why they should abandon Origen?
Let's be honest SoZA wasn't even a top tier Top laner

Wrong. sOAZ was their best performer and saved their ass in Summer More in general, sOAZ has alwasy been ups and downs depending on meta, when the meta is favourable he is one of the best top laners in the World, otherwise he is below average, and he wasn't showing signs of declining but more signs of meta non completely favourable + the effects of the team problems on his performance - and again, he was still Origen best performed in Summer and saved their ass from relegation -
It is good for Origen that he is gone, but it is not because he couldn't perform - heck he can still perform very good as said above -, it is more because he is not a good fit with PoE style wise, and looking to the future PoE has more years left in his career so if Origen trust PoE (and they trust hime because they kept him despite him underperforming), and has to choose between them, they will better keep him rather than sOAZ
Origen announced on twitter that both Soaz and Amazing are leaving.
