ADC Itemizaton

Ok, so I don't like DoubleLifts Ashe itemization today. I didn't like Kobe's itemization when they lost to FlyQuest last week and I hated Styxxay's third item choice today.

Lets start with Kobe. He was playing Aphelios and he built grieves (fine), an IE (fine), a hurricane (fine), Maw (weak but ok), Blood Thirster (giving the game to the enemy tank Orn). Honestly, I have a lot of problems with the Blood Thirster. This itemization would look a lot better on Jhin. On a fast attack ADC like Aphelios you know you are building hurrican on, I would like Phantom Dancer and Witsend much better. The player would have more mobility to help him survive and more team damage. In the end tho, Kobe needed a Last Wisper to Lord Dominik's.

DoubleLift was playing Ashe. He built grieves (fine), BorK (I don't like), a hurricane (fine and power spikes the BorK but does not use power spike), an IE (fine), Phantom Dancer (look I get it, buttt enemy team super tanky you just lost the game). In the end tho, Double Lift needed a Last Wisper to Lord Dominik's.

Everyone seems to think that last year's meta of building BorK first is extremely good on Ashe. I disagree. I think you need to build IE or better yet Soul Reaver. If you have zero cool down reduction, you better not be wiffing your arrows, which sadly is exactly what 2XLift did today. I have wiffed a lot of arrows. To avoid wiffing arrows you shoot them through fog of war like walls and stuff or after you hit with a W or Broxah stuns the enemy jungler.

Stixxay was playing Varus. He built grieves (fine), BorK (fine), a ginsoos (fine), a rapid fire cannon (wtf?!)... A hurricane would double his team fight damage. A Phantom Dancer would increase his survival. A witsend would increase his survival versus POE who was targetting him. In the end, all I can say is these professionals need some on the job training.

I want to point out that in both match ups against a heavy tank team, the opposing team could have easily picked Trundle like FlyQuest did today. Instant strength and improved ADC performance into a tank.

My Ashe build is a little off meta. I will share it in case anyone is interested since I think it would have fared better than DoubleLift's today, and I started playing Ashe after seeing DoubleLift carry with her. I build Soul Reaver, Grieves, BlackCleaver (sounds bad but try it... also cheaper than sneaky's tri-force but same concept), hurricane, phantom and IE. Against a tanky team, I would probably build IE, Hurricane, Phantom, Lord Dominiks and Soul Reaver. Notice I don't build BorK on Ashe. I think the primary benefit of BorK is the active. Ashe get's a better slow from crits. Life Steal in combat falls off. On hit effects don't benefit from crit, and if you are playing Ashe play for full crit. I provide life steal sustain through runes.

My biggest complaint about the game today for DoubleLift was not following up on the pick on Wiggly by Broxah. Had he and CoreJJ taken Wiggly the entire game could have gone differently. With Wiggly stunned up that was an easy Arrow. 2XLift went the next 5 minutes without firing the arrow and then wiffing down a visible (easy to avoid stretch) through mountain terrain that would have caused the arrow to wiff even if it wasn't visible. Anyway, if you don't build cdr, that arrow won't be up much and you can't miss.

For runes I like Approach Velocity on Ashe which also helps follow up on good picks. If you have it, it makes finishing off slippery enemies relatively easy too. Approach Velocity would look good on CoreJJ TaumKench too instead of Minion dematerializer. That's my take. And if you don't want to play aggressive please communicate that before champion select because TL lost late game priority in the draft so hard but played it anyway...

Anyway, I am just a Silver player, but the itemization on LCS ADCs lately has felt like they are running scared and dumb. ADCs are relatively strong right now, and it's up to our pros to show it.
