Reignover just said it best: they wait for their opponent to make a mistake, and to be fair their opponents have been making some bewildering mistakes theyve just been winning off of

However for this last game i think they did outdraft NRG pretty hard

Based on what we've seen of their play, really wouldn't count on it.

Their coordination seems pretty good compared to the other teams in the NA LCS.

They almost lost to TSM, and probably would have had TSM not made a stupid baron call. IMT is super good, but I doubt they will have a flawless split.

The problem is more than IMT seems like is yet peaking now. Can they really progress much further than actual level? Unless Pobelter or Wildturtle suddenly step up their level, this is unlikely. If you look ahead, it is difficult to see where they can improve, and this is the worrying trend, because if someone just drop a bit in form they can start having losses and ending up questioning themselves thus getting extra confidence problems and so on

Not arguing that they will have a perfect split, because it is ungodly hard to do, that "peak too early" mindset is the same attitude people had with Fnatic at the beginning of spring split (no the perfect split, but none the less fantastic). They are the sole reason I won my spring split fantasy last year.

Wut? Everybody was arguing that Fnatic had the clearly weakness of Steelback they had to improve if they want to do more than being just better than bad (at least, it was perceived this way by many people not following EULCS) Eu competition. Some were arguing that reignover was not that good either and he was carried by Huni-Febiven duo and had to improve considerably too

You could have mentioned SK if you wanted to talk about an EU team, but Fnatic example is just bad

P.S. the team that peaked too early last season, by the way, was probably TSM, just that people didn't recognize it before they faced serious international competition (hint, not the IEM Katowice situation when they didn't face a single #1 team in any region) at MSI

It's too early in the season to tell, but I don't think they are headed toward an undefeated season. They have actually looked rough and uncoordinated several times but managed to outplay other teams who (mostly) have been looking even more lost in those games. Let's compare them to other more established teams in a month.
