Seems pretty sketchy, but as we all know there are two sides to every story...doubt we will ever know but I'd be curious to hear riot's side.

Only have to watch until 11 mins to see that the ban on Monte is bs

Sure does seem like a load of bullshit on Riot's part. The part about not revealing any evidence is dumb.

Well, he did mess up by not providing the affidavits. He mostly seems guilty of being a pampered fuck that goes on too many vacations if you ask me.

Definitely have to agree with Monty's side on this. Riot has lacked transparency in quite literally everything they've done (whether it be stuff like this, to their removal of solo-queue, to even the bans they hand out to individual players), with the idea being that we should "have faith" that their decision is the correct one and just move on from it. While I do slightly feel bad for Monty, Renegades/Misfits will definitely exist outside of LoL, so him losing one fish in what is slowly becoming a massive ocean of gaming shouldn't hurt him too bad (especially since he didn't get stripped of his team and was at least allowed to sell it).

Also, I'm willing to bet anything that the "contract clause" thing he was trying to avoid talking about at the end due to it being confidential is Riot's team equivalent of the stuff they have in the terms and agreements they have for us (in which you don't directly own any of their property such as skins/characters, but are merely being given the priviledge to use it by them).

If you look at how Riot games communicates during their "investigations" you would think they've really allowed their power to get to their heads. It's like, if you even take a slightly antagonistic stance (ie saying youre going to have your lawyer present for communications or asking for clarification as to the reason why you're being investigated) then you're going to be targeted as a "rebel". It's absolutely ridiculous and scandalous how this was handled. Riot, you can't continue to work this way! I mean, goddam, you sent the check to the wrong team! How unprofessional! And the way you communicate to Monte is absolutely mind blowingly unprofessional. I hope you guys disappear into nothingness once League has run its course.

This was a bad part on Riot... #FreeMonte

Feel like both party handled the situation in a bad way. Monte being negligent, but Riot just jumping into conclusion and not really providing any reasons why Monte gets the ban is pretty shady. I felt that Monte acted in all good faith in this whole situation and Riot was just sensitive about how the situation had been handled with him getting a lawyer and stuff. In short, Riot can not handle situation professionally. Precisely, why I would see this as the downfall of league of legends. All these situations boiling up from Riot and people are getting tired of it.

Eventually, the League scene would disappear and people would start to hop onto Overwatch, like how World of Warcraft was dismantled gradually. Riot needs to get their act together.

And I think, it would be best move for them to step up and admit they're wrong and "free" Monte. Not everyone can admit they're wrong. But when they do, it actually makes them look better because they're willing to accept the fact that they're wrong. #FreeMonte.

Riot should comment on this.
