The End Of Our "Soul"

So.....this is how it ends. Hometown Opportunities trampled on by the footsteps of Heavy Outsourcing. There was a time, before most of you were alive, that we players in North America took such pride and banded together to fight against Koreans and Russians. We cybernetically looked in each other's eyes and knew we were fighting for something. Canadians, Americans and Latin Americans all coming together to stand as one. And we were as powerful as our enemies. Slowly but surely throughout time, in the midst of Spring 2016, that is being destroyed.

You promote collegiate dreams of a better life in this genre, much like the NFL, NBA and MLB... and then you toss it aside and replace their hope with professionals from a foreign world. North America is like a human being, and you are severing it's limbs. You believe that you're doing something good, replacing flesh and blood with bionic parts, to make the whole better, but you're wrong. All you are doing is destroying the "soul" of an entity that was always strong, and once that soul dies....so will the NA LCS. While watching the North American Spring LCS trailer, I was sickened as I listened to inspiring and hopeful music going in the background, and realized most of all the player face shots... were foreign pros. As an online gamer of almost 3 decades, I had to grow old knowing that there was no E-sports for me to chase my dream. And now for most young North Americans, neither can they. For all of you... this young generation... I am so sorry... that **YOUR** chance is being taken away from you. If I could change it, believe me I would. But for now, all I can do... is sit beside all you youngsters, and share in your grief... as we slowly watch our "soul" come to an end. -Will

Ironically it's mostly NA's culture that is at fault.

People who try to pay through college and get into careers with/in gaming are usually either shunned or mocked by the general mass. This has very recently been changing but with that also came attention whores and let's players who even more ironically brought the vision of a serious pro gamer down.

Now in order to be respected by NA society as a gamer you need to be ironically stupid or physically attractive. If you're not either of those then more often than not you'll be shunned by anyone who isn't in the gaming community.

Because of this attitude no one in the NA takes the pro-scene as seriously as they should because it's usually either publicity suicide or simply not an option.

NA has always been a country of survival of the fittest to the extreme. You either are the greatest and everyone knows you or you're a practical nobody. There is almost never an in-between. NA had no soul in the E-Sports scene because it was never serious about it to begin with.

The closest we've ever gotten to that was with competitive fighter games and we all see where that has gone. (ie. a giant elitist group with incestious behavoiur and thought patterns that lead to a hugbox and refuses to accept anything new without an unnecessary amount of motivation.)
