As a 48 year old lifelong gamer, I am sick of RIOT playing "CARE BEAR" to teenage instigators in league games. I call out teammates' incorrect actions (because RIOT matches me up with morons), and then when I ask an enemy team to report him for openly feeding and announcing in team chat, the enemy team gets toxic and all report me for the fun of it. This was three games ago (about 2 hours). Then when RIOT goes to look at the reports.... THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING!

So they decide to go back EIGHT AND ELEVEN games back from over 2 days ago to find me using select words like retard or "fuk". They went back in my history to "cherry pick" so they could get some kind of satisfaction, not looking at what happened on that current game.

Seriously RIOT, you sicken me with your "higher than thou" attitude, when you're nothing but children yourselves. Learn what it means to be an adult before you go around playing GOD. If you spent more of your time trying to improve match-making to keep IDIOTS away from skilled players, instead of abusing your power, this game could evolve further. But alas, you cater to the kids who are "pulling your strings."

"Being an adult", to me is more along the lines of not flaming kids for not doing well. That sort of reaction doesn't make anyone play better, it makes them annoyed by you and not want to work with you, tilts them, and all around just makes them play worse and creates a negative environment in the match that makes it less enjoyable.

When was the last time that you went to, say, a bar where someone verbally abused you for an hour straight and actively enjoyed the experience compared to the same experience without the harassment?

Being an adult does not mean that you seek out and love getting abused. Sure, maybe it means you can handle it, but I still don't desire to spend my leisure time somewhere where I'm subject to harassment. League is, ultimately, a leisure time entertainment product. It should not have to be one where you have to sign up for "X amount of abuse" to participate.

Where did I say for no reason? ANY verbal abuse is unnecessary and uncalled for. There is no reason in this, a leisure activity, you should need to harass or abuse anyone.

There also isn't a hypothetical there -- just a statement that many adults (myself included) don't enjoy being harassed or abused during our leisure time, and that this is part of why doing so is punishable. :)

It's only when you get troll Premades who throw out 4 or 5 reports, that it triggers your report system, so don't you dare lecture me on what is punishable kid.

The report system works on a boolean flag -- a single report has just as much value as 9 reports. That said, it's often frustrating because the "punishment confirmation" is actually only sent to the last report before the punishment, so it's not as obvious as it could be when your actions take effect.

As you wish. My goal, as always, is to inform and help prevent future punishments. If you don't want that assistance, I'll happily go elsewhere.

You literally know nothing about how the system works. 1 report is the same as 9. It's not people who look at this. It's an automated system. A report triggers the system to look at your current game and past games. If you have been reported multiple times, it scans your chat to see if you've been using language or behavior that is prohibited. If you have, it automatically bans you. A real person never even looks at it.

Do you mind if I jump in?

Since it seems age is very important to you, I am 34. Since I started playing online games when they first started, I have been playing them as long as you have. Still, I find no cause to rage at strangers in them, nor do I see what you could have possibly learned in those 14 years that would teach you otherwise.

If you want to have a serious discussion, I think you need to be a bit more specific about what it is you're criticizing. Have you received a punishment? If that is the case, let's see the chat logs they sent you. We'll be able to determine if this is indeed an injustice or if you're just trying to argue your way out of your actions.

Age is but a number, that in no way relates to maturity. And you, my good sir, seem to focus more on your age and some perceived extra status that gives you than you do on the actual earned status that DTN and Djinn have through their mature discussion and ability to moderate.

If you'd like DTN to consult an elder, I hope you at least know that you, regardless of your age, are not an elder. You're acting like a child and there is absolutely no reason for DTN to consult you or respect your opinion.

As a fellow "adult", I call you out on your fallacy. There is never a reason. You're simply a hot tempered person. At your age you either can use self control, or go to a therapist for anger management.

You're allowed to your feelings. However, there is not a reason to be uselessly spamming chat. Learn restraint. And to put this in terms your "adult" mind comprehends: You signed a legal agreement when creating an account to follow Riot's policies. You didn't hold up to the agreement, but Riot has. Adults understand consequences to their actions.

"typing like this" doesn't emphasize anything, so to further your argument, chill with the quotes.
Basic conflict resolution would state it would be best to calmly and logically list your thoughts without insults. By insulting what you're doing is setting the person/people you disagree with on the defensive automatically. I don't know a single person that states "you know, I wasn't agreeing with you until you called me a douchebag - that was the point where I realized 'holy crap, I'm acting like a DB'"
You'd be better off accepting that occasionally people will have a bad game and not play their best. Every once in a while, people might end up feeding as well. If you can't accept that, you probably shouldn't play the game. Occasionally people are going to cut you off in traffic - if your response is to chase them down and flip them off every time, or worse, you might not want to drive.
In a game where someone HAS wronged you, chill out, report, and move on. I expect some teenagers to have a problem with impulse control. I don't expect a life-long gamer who's old enough to have played ET on Atari to deal with those issues.

What is player 'care bear'. If you mean that they're overly sensitive you might need a reality check. You're here mad you got punished for breaking the same rules you have agreed to yourself. You don't decide if Riot should play 'care bear', only Riot can.

Riot matches you with players your own skill. This is a fact.

This is where you go wrong. You're not supposed to call for others to report someone. If you really want to see them reported, do it yourself. A players is no more likely to get punished because he recieved 9 reports in one game as opposed to 1 report. The system performs the exact same check.

Because you broke the rules. Now, let's say you didn't break any rules but you somehow recieved 9 reports anyway. You wouldn't be punished. That's not how it works.

Indeed, actions don't magically disappear. But they showed you those games as examples of what they define as unacceptable behaviour.

Im a 48 yr old Periscope. It's almost impossible for me to "put up" with little teenagers "trolling" with insults, when I'm trying my best to win a game. When you get to my age and have them harrassing you, perhaps you'll understand.

I'm 33 and I do it pretty well. There's also this great thing in game called the MUTE button, it does wonders when people are saying stupid things on your team or the enemy team.

If free time and enjoyment are there, there's not reason to stop. Gaming as a hobby has no expiration date. The young and old alike may enjoy it.

I would much rather being doing something productive that I can actually physically say is an achievement. Finishing my projects the exact way that I want.

Gaming is a hobby that lets you escape from the real world. For now, I just need something to pass the time. I'm not dropping gaming, but I'll be moving to bigger things in the nearer future.

The OP is right but he could've expressed himself better. Riot is a game run by chinese and korean children now. They do not have an honorable culture and it carries over into the exploits of this game's ranked mode. They have set it up for people to fail...while the few lucky to make it to the highest ranks. The ranked mode is broken...its not fun...and there is no reason for anyone to play it in its obsolete state.

Something seems a little off here. He says he's 50 and he's a life long gamer, but league has been up for only 8 years. And if im not missing something (and im pretty sure I don't) you can play games since the age of 7-8, which means he is 8+8=8×(1+1)=8×2=16 years old.

I think he was 48 years old and has bren playing games since able to. Like I am 26 and have been playing games since whenever nes and duckhunt/Mario, so like 4. I have still consider myself a lifelong gamer though even though 22 years are missing.
