New ways to earn Prestige Points

Prestige Points have been out for a few months, with K/DA Evelynn Prestige Edition soon joining the roster. We're working on a couple ways to get Prestige Points through our major events and while they won't be in place for Eve's initial release, we're sharing our plans early so you can take them into consideration when deciding how to get her and other Prestige Point skins!

100 Prestige Point Bundle in Event Shops

Each event's Event Shop will offer a one-time purchase of 100 Prestige Points as an option for players who prefer a Prestige Points skin to that event's Prestige skin. The token price of this purchase will be a bit higher than the price of the event skin on offer since we still want to highlight the event-exclusive Prestige skin and the Prestige Points option lets you choose from a pool of skins. For example, Prestige Firecracker Vayne cost 1000 Lunar Revel tokens, so the 100 Prestige Point bundle would have cost 1100 tokens.

25 Prestige Points from “Milestone Missions”

Event Passes now come with a chain of “Milestone Missions” that grant Prestige Points—we're currently thinking five missions that grant 5 Prestige Points each. You'll be able to earn all 25 points regardless of when you pick up the pass but won't get banked credit for matches played before then. We've got at least four events planned for the rest of 2019 so you'll be able to earn a Prestige Point skin through this change alone. The idea here is that players who can’t grind in a shorter burst can instead grind over time and earn a Prestige Point skin. Completing all of the Milestone Missions should take substantially fewer games than what’s required to unlock the event Prestige skin.

We hope these new options are exciting for those of you who want to get in on the Prestige Points bling without purchasing Loot bundles. Let us know what you think!

Buying the skin outright just defeats the purpose of what a Prestige skin is for me. When the concept first came out I was happy because I thought it would add some sort rarity/exclusivity back to the game through GAMEPLAY rather than MENUPLAY. Guess I was wrong.

So we still have to pay to get these PRESTIGE skins? When will prestige involve game dedication instead of having a fatter wallet? Just because you can pay less and grind doesn't make it any more prestigious. There is still no way to earn it through merit alone.

Can anybody at Riot comment on the fact that these skins, while nice, are nowhere near worth the $120 price point compared to other Legendary and Ultimate skins which are $35ish? They don't get custom VOs, they barely have other differences from the normal skin other than it being a gold chroma. The quality is honestly just poor. Are you guys planning on making the skins more unique in the future to justify the price point? Or is this this a cash grab? It is fine if it is, just some transparency would be nice.

so how much rp will i need to buy the 100 prestige points during an event? like 2000? btw thanks for doing this cause $100+ for a recolor of a skin without any other changes is really not worth it in my opinion, especially when the prestige version doesn't get new taunts, jokes, or dances that are related to the theme of the skin if the base skin is a rare. feel like prestige skins, since they are mythics, should get jokes, taunts, and dances more thematicly appropriate for the skinline

Remember back in the day when you actually had to be good to be called “prestigious” or do a lot of work (not a obsene amount of work for a video game) to be called prestigious but man looking at it you need to spend at least 100$ plus to get a “prestige” skin so people that have can have it aren’t even good with the champion they bought “prestige” with and with the 10$ pass they have to get they have to play at least 200+ league of legends games to get enough tokens to get it and roughly each league game is about 30 minutes so you about have to play league for 110 hours to get enough if each win gives 5 tokens so I think it should be challenges with a champion and have level 7 with them to earn “prestige” but having to spend over 100$ or 100+ hours in game to get a gold chroma that doesn’t even show prestige for a champ just isn’t worth it. Also getting the prestige chroma from the token shop should give you the skin too cause you already spent 10$ on the battle pass cause having to buy the skin after grinding out ludicrous amounts of hours just seems like excess bm but regardless prestige was just another way for riot to slip in a different version of hex tech skins under a different name but still same in price and crazy way to obtain them (I see why faker doesn’t use skins to show off his prestige)

"We're making Prestige skins easier to get, and enabling free(er) access." Just don't make them, then. No one wanted these overrated Chromas anyway, outside of one or two regions. Although the KDA ones are pretty nice, I'm still very sad about these, Riot.

Will the past prestige skins return to the store for purchase with PP? I really want Kai'sa but I didnt have the time to grind and I just got 100 prestige points and it is sadly not available. I guess because it came out in 2018.

I still heavily dislike how these show nothing about skill on a champion and just show you have alot of money, these Prestige skins should make you go "oh no this person is good with this champ", but it comes off as "oh look this guy has alot of money" It should be that when you buy the base skin for the Prestige skin you get missions specific to that champion that take time to complete and require skill, like landing each edge part of aatrox q a number of times in a match, or landing multiple wall stuns with condemn in a match, something to show you are good with the champ, not just to flex your money

Feels like a slap to the face to those who have been buying prestige points upto now if its becoming infinity more accessible/cheaper.

Also need to add alternatives for prestige points for those who don't end up at 100

well, we still need to invest money to have any amount of prestige points.... and u guys said at the beginning of the year there would be ways to get some prestige tokens FOR FREE not enough for a skin but still FREE PP, wich would lower the overall cost of buying a prestige skin

also it's really sad you guys can't tell us the MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM amount of prestige points we can buy/earn in one year, THIS WOULD REALLY HELP US KNOW WHAT PRESTIGE SKIN WE SHOULD INVEST TIME AND MONEY ON.... especially for people who want them all

sooo here are the questions:

1- if we buy a event pass, is it possible to get 125 prestige points from the event WITHOUT putting more money into this event?(just making sure)

2- is there gonna be ANY WAY TO EARN PRESTIGE POINTS EVEN IF WE DONT PUT ANY MONEY INTO THE GAME? even a small 25 to 50 PP would be nice as stated it would at least lower the cost of getting a prestige skin for those who CANT PUT IN THE BIG AMOUNT OF MONEY THEY COST!

3-why dont you consider giving people 1 to 5 prestige points for every 100 000(or more) mastery points on champs they own and that have a prestige skin? it would reward people who main those champs( also trading m7 tokens when ur already m7 would be nice)

4- why dont you tell us how many prestige skins will be relased in the year...not who but how many(are planned) this would help us not waste all our PP on one skin when we dont know there may be others more interesting for us later( or specify somewhere that the best thing to do is stack your PP until the last week before skins will be taken out of the shop TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE DONT FEEL EVERY PRESTIGE SKIN RELEASE IS JUST ANOTHER GACHA FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE IMPULSIVE)

5- why do you say you want people to feel a sense of accomplishment when they get a prestige skin when all you really have to do is have money/put money into the game to get them? they should really be earned trough mastery/time played with the champ as well as the grindiness(of events) some of them are related to... right now it's more like: hey you fund riot here is a prestige skin.. you dont fund me but play more then anyone and give feedback and you almost work for us for free finding bugs ect... but NOPE NOTHING FOR YOU, GIVE US MONEY!

i can't wait to see how this change WILL REALLY BE because sadly with the few recent events having typos and misleading ways to be described,this doesn't give me much hope and with things being said by rioters not always being what we experience/get in the client, well i take every information from them very carefully, to be the least disappointed from them i can be

my new mentality: ask questions about anything you are not 100% sure you understood+ wait for other people to hit the bugs and baits and complain about them= not making any move i will regret..

sry impatient and misinformed people who jump on things the second they are available but you should know the risks of doing that in LOL by now

i sure hope my feedback helps some people have a better LOL experience

and @ riot why dont you ask us what we think of your ideas before deciding to go ''live'' with them? you would get a notice of what we dont want/like from what's announced as PLANNED and then you would be able to go ''LIVE'' with things and get a lot less complaints about it( and the ever ''WE SHOVE THIS DOWN YOUR THROAT DEAL WITH IT PLAYERS!'' feeling we all get from your way of functionning)

I don't think the effort/money needed to dump into this game to get a prestige skin is worth it, especially when most of the original skins they are based on are honestly better looking.

They should be something you can get for free with tons of grinding, not a premium expensive item. Nothing prestigious about them, just expensive. Most of the time the skins are not better looking than the originals.

The amount of prestige points from milestone missions is still underwhelming. You still require 1000 for the skin you want. So this is still basically a pay to get skin if you only do milestones. Unless wins and defeats gives you any. Anyhow, that would require playing an absurd amount of games too. Sucks for us with little time and priorities for our money.

How about the players can unlock the prestige skin of a specific champion under a few circumstances, like 1) play a lot of games with said champion, 2) get A or S with said champion quite a few times , 3) complete event missions with said champion, 4) go through a test with said champion, 5) to finally complete the whole quest of getting the skin one must contribute a maximum amount of 500 RP to the game for an item or prestige point or something . Now that would be a prestigious player deserving a prestigious skin. The way this works now just proves that any rich person has some kind of prestige in the game. What kinda sports is this becoming?

We don't know the ammount of Prestige skin every year, but u can give some point for every season split: 750 Sp or 1000 Sp = 30 1st Split, 30 2nd Split, 40 Last Split. So if u play or not the event, you can get 1 Prestige skin every season if you play ranked. Can be somethink like a reward for all player for their good or bad work in ranked or can be put a limits for only gold+ player.

I'm confused. Say I wanted a prestige skin that's not part of the pass (KDA Ahri). The prestige points would cost slightly more than upfront buying the tokens for a battle pass-style Prestige Skin (like Kai'sa or Vayne)?

Also, rough estimate how much money would I be sinking in then?

Read this article please: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/vcOopEs0-rito-please-read-this. How could I earn 100 prestige points if Garena keep doing this? I bet there won't be any 100-prestige-point bundles (or 25) or any event passes that give you prestige points in this server's store.
