Hey everyone and welcome to Patch 8.4, the "It's Definitely Not Mid-Season but WOAH, lots of changes" Patch.

I’m Riot Novalas & I’m a QA Analyst on Riot’s Playtest Team, a group of high elo players who work on Core Gameplay playing new champions, reworks, balance tweaks, items, and map updates before they’re released. It’s our job to test the changes that our designers come up with and ensure that we’re introducing positive changes to League in terms of both balance and fun.

Rolling into this patch, we've got a minor AP itemization overhaul with some new & old faces! Say hello to Spellbinder ... and our dear old friend, Twin Shadows. Lots of the items have been tweaked as well. If you're a mage, your itemization may have changed up. We'll be more than happy to push you onto the right path! On the other side, Rengar Q has been reverted. Squishy champions beware because The Hunt Is On. Volibear has also received some changes that add on another method of skill expression to his kit.

There are buffs and nerfs aplenty this patch. We've got buffs to Darius, Evelynn, Fiddlesticks, Renekton, and more. Tristana, Zoe, and a few others took some hits as well. Tracker's Knife is now dead and there's a new rune in Resolve (Bone Plating!). Baron & Elder Dragon have received some major buffs as well.

Ask us ANYTHING about 8.4. We're here to answer questions about your favorite champions, inquiries about runes, or maybe how often we execute to jungle camps! Let's talk mage items or maybe discuss shifts in the jungle! We're also down to just chat, though.

Removing tracker's knife has left lee sin with a nerf while he is already weak imo, especialy when sightstone is also no longer in the game. Seems weird that you wouldn't at least buff him a bit this patch to make up for the nerf. Are you considering any changes to his kit to make up for tracker's knife?

So i see there are some gnar changes in the patch what I want to inquire about is when it comes to champions similar to gnar with access to both ranged and Melee forms, what changes are you looking to make so they aren't oppressive to deal with but also fill their role nicely?

In layman's terms: How do you balance champions who can be both Melee and Ranged so that us players don't smash our keyboards in frustration at what we consider "Bullshit" Design.

Hey guys, can someone on your team take the time to nerf Support Items on Twisted Treeline please? Like by Patch 8.6 by the latest? Player behavior there has gotten to the point where your teammates will threaten to intentionally feed or grief and verbally abuse anyone who does not even suggest playing a hyper-carry comp. Happens like 40% of the time. The solution is very simple and wouldn't take up a lot of that person's time, while it would improve the League experience of anyone who plays TT. Just remove Bandit at the very least from the Timeworn items. If you feel like it, you can also remove their GP10.

For some reason I'm not seeing other comments so no idea what's with that. So heres me blitzing out some to start it off!

What are your Favorite changes to AP Items?

The ones you think will be most Meta changing?

Funnest for players?

Will there be any other changes to nocturne, that will actually make him better at dealing damage to champions? The PBE buff only gives him better jungle clear and longer ultimate vision denial, but the actual attack speed buff duration from W got nerfed, so overall Noc will be weaker in 1v1s which isn't a good thing to see...

Gotta say i have major concerns about how tanky singed can build + how much damage he can deal just by havingitem 3116 item 3151 with the rest of his items being defensive health items, given i have only played one game vs that so far but it was not very much fun to play against so would you consider changing the increased impairment damage to only be based off of champion abilities and not items?

What's your thoughts on the state of Skarner after 8.1 and him seeing play in the LCS?

Just from first impressions, the new keystone seems really strong on a lot of fighters that were previously buffed (Aatrox, Tryndamere come to mind, I'm sure there are others)

Do you think that the keystone will either need to be toned down, or some of these buffs may need to be reverted?

Master Yi's Q cooldown is reduced by 1 second every time he attacks something. What do you think of this mechanic? Does it add depth to his gameplay, or does it just punish him for playing fights strategically and using Meditate, and waiting for good opportunities to attack? Do you think it makes Master Yi players act too aggressive in combat? Do you think it's one of the major reasons he's less effective in high elo, where melees naturally can't attack enemies as much? Would he be more balanced and healthier if the mechanic was removed and the base cooldown was lowered?

Do those changes really make Volibear a good pick in any scenario? When are we going to see some real changes on him?

When are we going to see anything in regards to "CLASH" already?!
