Player chat restrictions

When I click to check the boards, there is always at least 10 or more posts that have to do with a player complaining that he got wrongfully punished and then all the post Is is his in game chat of 40+ lines of them barraging his teammates with hurtful things or just spewing nonsense of how he was challenger 13 5 seasons ago with a 90% win rate and doesn't belong in the rank they are and that all his team should listen to him and if they dont they are DS*.

I propose 1 of 2 things for this, make these posts easy to get rid of because they are essentially spam, given 90% of them are the same and just take up room on the boards where real discussions can start, especially since when making a post it's calling creating a discussion, in which not much to discuss there when your title is "F*** this game" Followed by those 40+ lines of well defined toxicity.

So I think those posts shouldn't be allowed on the boards, because those posts, and with the same amount of time to create, should be put into Player Support tickets. F you feel your punishment wasn't deserved, make a ticket. Because arguing with every player, Developer,Rioter,Moderator, Supervisr, that tells you that your in the wrong is not the way to go about getting the punishment lifted. And it's certainly a waste to a lot of people's time who are genuinely answering the questions.

Or, make a specific board for it, literally for players to go to bring up possible wrongly put out punishments. Cause you can see these posts in discussing the boards, gameplay, player behaviour, memes and things, general discussion, anywhere. And a lot of the time it's not people trying to discuss their ban, just complaining that they got caught after being toxic for so long. And I don't believe here is the place for that, support tickets are.

Idk, it's just a somewhat simple solution to a not so big issue. Thoughts?

There was another thread regarding PB a couple days ago and we're starting to see more and more of them. I'm sure everyone agrees that venting is sometimes the best way to get a clear visual on a situation. We can probably also agree that some folks simply come to Player Behavior with the mindset that they couldn't possibly be in the wrong.

To your points: You mentioned making the threads easier to delete because they're basically just spam. We're trying to find the good line between letting people vent their case in a controlled environment and locking down/removing content that is blatantly rule-breaking (being racist, sexist, rank-shaming, etc.) Unless the poster is doing something super egregious in the thread itself like I mentioned, we're really not gonna be removing much because some people genuinely don't understand that they're being toxic lol. One of the purposes of PB is to provide insight for punished players. Vets like y'all it might find it a little hectic to sift through the same type of scenario you've solved dozens of times, but those posters generally aren't as seasoned. Yeah, some people could get their questions answered by reading other threads, but I think everyone deserves to -- at the very least -- have their individual voice heard. However, we could probably do a better job of closing threads that have been clearly solved or threads that have just run themselves in circles.

As for making a specific board: we've tossed around the idea internally and it has been something discussed here as well. It obv. won't be something that happens tomorrow, but it could... it'll need to be discussed more on our side. Ulanopo mentioned this in another thread, but we really want to avoid Board congestion. Also, I don't really think it would be super resourceful to create a Board for appeals since Rioters don't have the ability to monitor something like that at this time and suspension appeals is done solely through them.

I know my post is a little everywhere and a littlest messy, I'm not the best for writing structure. So my bad! [sg-syndra]

Part of the communities' job here on the Boards is to provide players with a community-trial of sorts. Not to say that we can appeal or enforce punishments, but having objective input from the community has shown to help people understand their punishments and reform. Sometimes these are things you just can't get from a Support Ticket.

And it's certainly a waste to a lot of people's time who are genuinely answering the questions.

I know you and I have a lot of interactions together on the Boards which is great, but just know a lot of us enjoy trying to help players who struggle with their punishments or don't understand the punishments given to them. I don't mind trying to walk people through things like this.

I've been permanently banned before so I know exactly what it feels like to be in that state of confusion, anger, and sadness and I try to use that to better improve people's experiences on the Boards. I honestly don't mind trying to help out!

The Boards staff do make an effort to remove improperly categorized posts, but they're all volunteers and it takes time to sort through them, so don't let it get to you too much!

I think you make a fair point here. I know it's frustrating looking at the Boards, so don't be afraid to take a break and cool off. We get a lot of negativity here, but try to focus on the positives and we can make the Boards a better place. :^)
