Two possibilities-

Check your extensions. Paste "chrome://extensions/" into your browser bar.
You have adware, and you should go ahead and download the ESET NOD32 free trial and scan your computer.

Well dang, Wuks himself. I already tried checking extensions, and running an Avast scan. I'll give ESET another try though. A long time back it got rid of some ransomware that both Avast and AVG couldn't do anything about.

Update: ESET Nod32 couldn't find it either. Tried MalwareBytes and that did the trick. Some Powershell based trojan.

MalwareBytes is OP. When nothing else works, MalwareBytes run from safe mode is the most overpowered way to clear viruses and adware
