Hey, you! Do you possess a certain set of skills that you feel would be beneficial to the Boards?

With a restructure of the Boards Volunteers and Moderation in the near future, we're re-opening applications for Boards Moderators here on the League of Legends North American Boards.

The upcoming changes will break from the current Warden Program and instead have Moderators that work to moderate, maintain, and improve the Boards as a whole rather than with individual sub-boards.

The deadline for applications will be at 11:59PM PST on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, and continuing with phase 2 will include a short voice or chat round-table interview. We will be selecting qualified candidates who possess all or most of the following attributes we are looking for.

Moderator Application (CLOSED)

Qualifications

  • History of frequent engagement and currently active on the Boards
  • Does not have an excessive history of breaking the Universal Rules or in-game punishments
  • Open to taking constructive direction in moderation and working collaboratively with Riot and other volunteers
  • Thick-skinned and the ability to detach personal feelings from moderation activities (stay calm and diplomatic in any situation)

Moderator Privileges

  • Name color, Moderator title, and icon on the Boards
  • Visibility to reported content
  • Delete discussion and comments
  • Disable commenting in a discussion
  • Pin a comment
  • Sticky discussions

Moderator Expectations

  • Be active in the community and facilitate discussions
  • Keeping the sub-board clean per Universal Rules
  • Be fair and distance from favoritism
  • Escalate discussions or comments as needed to Riot
  • Be the voice of the community and share those concerns to Riot

do i want to be a moderator? yes. do i have time to be a moderator? no. am i qualified to be a moderator? no.

1 out of 3 is pretty good in my opinion.

With midnight having passed here on the West Coast, applications are now officially closed. With over 200 applications, we'll need some time to go over your responses and get back to you. I'd like to personally thank all of you for your interest, and we hope to match your timely submissions with timely responses. We've set a timeline of reviewing all submissions by this Sunday, so if you don't have a response by then, don't hesitate to reach out here or via the Boards Discord.

Like, a lot of removed posts, or punishments like (if any exist) timed bans from boards? Or just no punishments (on boards) for X months? Never been punished in game.

I would like to be a moderator because I feel like I can see both sides of the coin. Although this is true it is highly unlikely I would get the job and to be perfectly honest, I'm pretty sure that other people would think that I would be a bad moderator. :/

I'm not as active on Boards as I used to be, but if volunteers are low, I'm willing to do what I can to aid in the matter. Don't know if I qualify; I'd imagine I should. Never had an real reports towards me or anything. But never the less, I'm willing to put in my part to help keep Boards more peaceful if able. I'd be more then happy to help as well when it comes Moderation discussions; it doesn't seem like all the wardens are on the same page still at times. Which, granted, there is a lot to deal with, but because of so it makes having more areas to cover that much more useful.

Lemme know if my aid is needed any; I'm usually around every so often, so contact shouldn't be difficult.

Just a reminder that applications will be closing on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:59PM Pacific Standard Time. We'll then go into the reviewing process, and we'll hopefully be able to send out notifications for those who make it to the second round of the application/interview process. I gave it a shot. I know the moderation here gets a lot of flack, but I think it'd actually be a net positive for me if I could help out here on Boards. This place is basically my internet home.
