❗Have an idea for the Boards? Let's hear 'em❗

Hey everyone!

As you may have noticed, the Boards have been undergoing some changes over the past few months; and with substantial changes came a lot of opinions on both sides. While you can always post your Boards feedback in the Discuss the Boards sub-board and the NA Boards Discord, we wanted a platform that was inclusive to other regions as well, as these changes have been/will soon be rolled out to Oceania and Europe. If you have any feedback pertaining to design, functionality, etc., we encourage you to join the discussion with the global volunteers and community members.

  • Design

    • Any ideas that might make the boards more enjoyable to look at, more customizable, more personal, etc.
  • Functionality

    • Anything that would make using the boards easier for players, improved usability, etc.
  • Features

    • Anything you'd like to see added to the boards in the future

And as always, we'll continue to keep an eye on the Discuss the Boards sub-board and NA Boards Discord for any feedback you have for us.

Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you!

When you have a thread open and it gets deleted, and you try to refresh the page, you get Riot's typical page not found screen. That screen has no link back to the boards, only the main part of League's site. Not sure what could be done there, but it would be nice if it could just take me back to the boards with a message saying the thread was deleted, instead of looking like the whole website might be having a problem.

A way to search the forum that actually work.

  1. Return the Esports board to the sidebar.
  2. Integrate the boards into the client.
  3. Automated "post match discussion" on Esports matches, kind of like what you see on r/leagueoflegends.
  4. For the first few hours of a post's lifespan, hide its score. A reader views a post at 0 or -1 score a lot differently than a 5.

Embedded sound files? Would make memeing a lot easier.

Edit - Ex: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/8/89/Jhin.move44.ogg/revision/latest?cb=20160117220128 , but as an embedded player.

This focuses more on PB.

Can we get a stickie or something there with a compiled list of Tantram posts about how the system works? As we frequently ask people to cite sources for false information, it is also good to cite correct information and cycling through to find what we need can be an annoyance.

how about a lane related board? for midlaners, for botlaners, for toplaners... so those lanes get official communities with known names and you can get tips and advice and things like that?

Arfurt5/28/2018, 11:30:48 AM2 votes

A section for NA only or EUW only enquiries!!

That would make a lot of stuff much more easier.

unless I'm mistaken id like a feature to save post to read for later. i check boards everyday at school so i cant check any links to imgur and stuff like that and I'm to lazy to go back and find the post again

UnboundHades1/18/2018, 1:33:07 AM2 votes

advertise bek more because it gets annoying having to explain it to people

Infernape1/18/2018, 1:41:45 AM2 votes

A spoiler function like Disqus. And make so that you'd have to click on it to reveal the spoiler.

Ability to change text color, size, or even highlight text. Kinda like what BBCode forums have.

Geneman4/13/2018, 6:42:21 PM2 votes

I'd like to see a button that let's me change freely between EU and NA boards. If i go to NA through Dev Corner for example, i can only go back to EUNE if i search for it on Google.

Hello,

I have an idea that will change this game forever, if this idea is achieved league of legends will become the most elite game in the world. How ever I do not know if this is possible right now this idea might take 5 years or more to achieve, i really hope its achievable and that leagu of legends will take it seriously. I was watching a movie yesterday and they were trying to make a game that u can live in it feel the experience imagine being inside league of legends imaging being grabbed by blitz if this idea is achieved people will never stop playing this game, as i said i dont know if its possible but if it is and even if its going to take a long period of time to achieve please consider it.

Best Regards and Respect, Aboude123

Well I think two or three things

  1. Maybe make the hub or forum like the new Reddit system, I think it works
  2. Make an app for people to see the forum more helpful
  3. Make two or three more tags on the board for champion concepts and buff or nerf idea so in gameplay people can flame but people with higher rating be able to tell riot the actual problem because right now well I would like to recommend like a mini buff on rek sai or thresh but it will be shot down by the sea of angry post of yasuo been too strong or that brand is too strong (when in reality brand is too strong right now unless you are a healer)

Have a nice day

i just wrote that as comment somewhere in a one year ago problem that i'm having i hope you figure it out and waiiiitt for it! ..ffix it please the one and only problem with league and we surely will live happily ever after.

VVON (EUW) - about 22 hours ago all over again.. please someone anyone tell me this is going to change. i had two another accounts ..this one is silver even though this bug made me leave two placement games, the other account as well i had to get mad once the ban is a bullet to our mamies heads and it is against human rights we all have mamies sometimes! i would climb each promo in days instead of months, out of our frustrated lives just hating the game for this. and i just had to leave my girlfriend for similar reasons i don't see why Riot would not consider this a Big problem .. i never left a game intentionally not once in my meaningless life HEllooooOOooOOOooOOoOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOooooooooOOOOOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOOoooooOOOOoooooO please :)

forgive my angry tone.. it is just because all the twisted words up there is true. best regards <#

I know it'll never happen but it'd nice to get an actual boards software that isn't broken garbage.

A WYSIWYG editor would be nice. Also, the removal of downvotes. They serve no function but to flame and harass.

Hello,

Could the images be displayed correctly, in the preview? I am a user from LATS, but any progress here could be taken some day to my region, so contributing with feedback is my priority, thanks.

Actually got a question on the mobile boards. I've seen lots of topics with yellow vote scores recently, is that something new?

Could you possibly add a feature similar to bek on mobile boards?

hoyohai1/19/2018, 5:35:36 AM1 votes

Feature idea: have an option to sort posts by most comments within a certain time frame (like the time selectors in search)

Aeszarck1/24/2018, 2:48:07 AM1 votes

There should be a section for guides/tips, separate from gameplay discussions. EDIT: Just revive this board right here! https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/tips-tricks

Both types of threads are allowed in Gameplay right now, but gameplay discussions generally overshadow the few guides that do get posted, which is discouraging to people who do post guides. If a new section was created for tips and guides, it would be easy for people to find guides on the Boards to learn from instead of having to sort through the vast amount of game discussion to find a guide (which no one does because at the moment there are easier ways to find guides). I don't know where video guides would go though. I think they should be allowed in both Streams & Videos and the proposed guides section, but people shouldn't be allowed to post the same guide in both sections at the same time.

Another idea that I have is about Boards usability. When a comment thread in Discussion view gets so large that it stops nesting, the Reply button should be disabled so that people have to Quote one another. This way, it's easier to follow discussion if it goes on for that long.

My last idea has to do with editing. Why is there only a 5 minute window for users without powers to edit their titles? Additionally, why is there only a 5 minute window on the main site to edit comments? People should be able to edit their titles and comments no matter what; there should be no lockout.

X1X2/16/2018, 5:45:28 PM1 votes

I don't know where to pitch this idea hopefully someone reads this and pitches it.

New game mode: "Last Man Standing" for all them "KDA PLAYERS" I guess you can call it.

no re spawns after dying just spectating.

Win conditions:

- Take out the enemy's nexus.

or - Take out all (5) enemy champions (players).

Lose conditions:

  • All ally champions defeated. or
  • Enemy team takes out ally's nexus.

short 3 to 15 minute matches =)

I desperately want an ignore feature.

When a specific forums account posts mostly negative, combative, or sexist things, I find it a bit absurd that I can't block that account from showing up on the boards for me. Almost every other forum I've used has this feature and I never realized just how much I appreciate it until I started missing it here.

######* I say sexist as opposed to other hate speech categories like racism and homophobia because Riot tends to let a lot of sexism slide as long as it isn't blatant

AblesCrux3/17/2018, 5:45:17 PM1 votes

more like you need somone to follow up on what people say before you delete it meaning only one mod should be able to delete the board.

FocusTheTowers3/22/2018, 5:24:31 PM1 votes

I would like for Riot employees to actually address the issues presented on the forums since Player Support is unhelpful.

DW Diana3/31/2018, 3:21:02 PM1 votes

A couple of ideas.

  1. if a post is made in the wrong section, move it to the right one instead of deleting it? Some people put a lot of time and forethought into our posts and having to do it all over again is a bit frustrating.

  2. Try to respond to more posts. I know some are just abusive but there a lot that a response could be "we're looking into this at the moment" or "we feel happy with the way that champion is performing at the moment". Most people are just wanting to get some idea of whether their favourite champion is going to get any attention in the next few patches. (E.g. my post about Malzahar, all I was hoping for was some idea whether he is staying teir 5 or whether you planned on making his W worthwhile.)

HyperionCH4/3/2018, 7:40:36 PM1 votes

How about a feedback-part? ("feedback" excludes all wishes of balancing, reworks, new champs, etc. -> only feedback about client, e-sport, merch, etc.)

In my opinion it's nearly impossible to give feedback to Riot and this feedback reaches the responsible Riot staff. Riot Support isn't allowed to transmit feedback to the responsible staff. And a written feedback in the board gets lost quickly (too many threads) so the feedback didn't read by the responsible Riot staff.

In my opinion Riot only see feedback from the community if the feedback is very loud (f.e. lot of criticism in Reddit). So it's hard to give feedback to Riot when the topic regards only a small group of the community and not thousands of players.

A special feedback-part could separate these "special feedback" and the responsible Riot staff could see this (and response so the author see that the feedback reach the responsible staff).

Probably already on here but I think it would be really nice to have a few boards dedicated to the discussion of certain positions. (IE: Top, Mid, Jungle, Support and ADC)

I would really like to get on and have a place I can go to and easily find or start a thread that has to do with my favored position.

RewardWanted4/27/2018, 12:38:15 PM1 votes

Make formatted posts, like the option to select a post format for bug reports, champion concepts, ban discussions; and make them auto-select the boards. It's really just a matter of putting the right text in the field, making it like a form to fill out.

Saezio5/10/2018, 4:10:36 PM1 votes

There should be a way in boards to make it so only people above certain rank can answer to your post. I am not hating on the lower elo people. It is just so frustrating because the league experience is totally different in different elos. For example when a diamond or master player wants to bring up an arguement, what good is the opinion of a gold/silver/ even platinum player when they have not seen how things in Diamond work? They experience league in a different way and that is really counter-productive for any conversation when anyone can just claim whatever they want and you have to each time go to op.gg to find out if that opinion is to be taken seriously or not. So yeah here is a thought to actually make the boards a better place. PS: As a perk it would be amazing to just see what the challengers think about the game without the constant interference of people that think they know better. I bet tons of people would read those convos.
