These boards are terribly designed for asking questions...

...or initiating a discussion through a question.

A question can be very thought provoking and definitely profits from exposure and thus upvotes just as much as any other discussion based on opinions. However properly asked questions tend to be neutral in nature and thus give no reason to upvote or downvote.

This means that only a tiny part of the community will get to see a thread based on a question before it fades into oblivion.

Are there any plans to change this? Like a double upvote sysem or popularity based on comments just as much as on upvotes?

What do you mean?

Threads along the lines of "How the hell is (X CHAMPION) balanced?" make the top of gameplay all the time.

Here's a fun fact: These Boards has been in Beta since their release, 3 years ago. And last I heard, a year ago or so, there has apparently been no web developers working on it since.

I have seen numerous threads containing good advice on how to improve these Boards, with both minor and major changes, added functionality etc. But guess what? There has not been a Red reply in any of them.

Can't we get a system like stackexchange ? It's so much better.

I have a pretty good idea on how to fix this. New posts should have their upvote and downvote arrows temporarily hidden. An algorithm would weigh the popularity of a post through interaction metrics, such as number of times viewed, commented on, and time spent on the post page. Greater popularity gives you a greater chance of being seen by others. When the post reaches a certain age (for example, an hour), the upvote arrow appears. If the post reaches a threshold of upvotes, OR reaches a certain older age, the downvote arrow appears.

I think this would prevent immediate shutdowns by individuals, and allows the poster a shot at having their ideas viewed by more people. Funny enough, if someone wants to censor you, their interaction with your post would give it more weight in popularity. If something is spam, I imagine there wouldn't be very much interaction with it, so it would be buried.

As you may have noticed, we now have our most recent addition to the Boards- Ask the Community

While it won't resolve all of the issues you listed, I do believe that it will help encourage more asking and answering of questions.

One of the annoying things I see when going through Story / Gameplay is seeing questions get downvoted... That really encourages community :T

The boards are just terribly designed in general. A few years ago when they went to this format the masses screamed how terrible they were.. like all things of course Riot ignored the player base. Basically, Riot wanted to create a board that would let players post when they got mad.. but made it so confusing and so.. 'lost' that it made it easy for them to ignore the players. That's what they want, this is what we got.

Bro this Board is still in beta for over 3 years by now, this is what i call Riot hiring useless lazy people who can't even finish their job before doing nothing. This probably fall under the people who design the website which heads up even the website with old champion info are out of dated and wacked as F**K.
