Is it just or do the General Discussion board posts feel awful

Like if you notice they are different. They don't stack well with responses to posts. It's hard to explain they are just really bad compared to other topics like game play.

This is actually an intentional decision, and one there will never be full agreement on. A lot of GD regulars really disliked the standard discussion view (as much of the GD community at the time -- and perhaps now -- came from the old traditional forum layout), so we turned GD to chronological only. It's a decision we could reevaluate in the future, certainly, but not one we're likely to reverse lightly.

Why tho, it just seems harder to see people responses to one another. I only brought this up cause on the Dev corner it seemed to be like this and it made it impossible to see who Meddler was responding to. Like he was saying things in response to people, but I had no way of seeing what the person said for reference.

I am an old GDer and I have no clue how you guys follow that confusing Reddit format that buries all but the most upvoted conversations and doesn't allow you to see the chronological natural flow of the conversation. Everyone has their own preferences and in the case of GD, our community works best with that format. I'm sorry it's confusing for you, but that's also why there are options on the other boards for how you want to view it.

I think I know what happened regarding the Meddler post. In GD we usually respond by quoting which gives a copy of the quoted material in the reply and that allows us to see context. In Dev Corner, I think you may have turned it to chronological instead of discussion view. Try going to the post, scrolling to just before the comments start, and there should be an option to click that says "switch to discussion view". That should let you see which comments Meddler replied to in the format you are used to.
