so they know why you're upvoting/downvoting also so you don't blindly downvote/upvote because of the person/title and have to read. Plus it'd be nice to know why people are upvoting/downvoting.
DrCyanide2 votesRequiring a comment is just requiring spam. How many "^", or "yup", or "lol", or "git gud", or "stay salty" comments would be said just so they could vote? You'd replace one form of vague feedback with a much more obnoxious and bulky form of vague feedback.
