can we purge the Yuumi topics please?

within the first 6 hours there have been at least 12 topics discussing about how broken, trashy, op, is and it is getting annoying. there is no reason to spam the message to get your point across. we all know she is a problem in some way. and you know what else? crying about it ain't gonna fix it. if you don't like her then don't fucking play her. if a player in your group selects her either ask them nicely not to or dodge the queue. and for you draft/ranked players you can be dicks and permaban her so no one plays her. so like it or not is part of the roster now and riot ain't gonna remove her. they didn't remove when you complained about him, they didn't remove when you complained about her, and they didn't remove when she got reworked. so this surge of topics has to stop. there is no reason for it.

Welcome to the league of legends boards. This tread has been going on for a good 7 years, maybe even 8 years. It’s something you learn to tune out.

i am half tempted to reinstall the game and play yuumi myself and show she is not broken/trashy or any of that.

After playing her 10 times or so on pbe and 5 times today she is very obviously on the weak side, everything she does Sona does better or Rakan even tbh. Her paper thin stats and being able to not dodge an auto with your W makes lane phase hell and late game if you EVER unattach you WILL die. I get her stats being weak because of her attach mechanic but jesus christ... This is vs like gold players and im D3 premade with other good players so i was doing well every game except one but she just feels worse than evrey other enchanter until mid-late game when you give 50-100 ad/ap to someone.

Coming from someone who has moderated multiple boards across all different categories (travel/airline related, general discussion, video game specific, and more), megathreads simply do not work for most "on topic" discussion topics. For one, the amount of additional work to moderate threads and direct them to a megathread is generally prohibitive, as well as the inability to maintain separate discussion in a megathread (because all comments go off one another). The League boards kinda get around this with discussion view, but only 50 comments at a time are shown in discussion view, so discussions can get cut off or end prematurely because they lose visibility.

Simply put, megathreads stifle valid discussion and aren't helpful.

you could have just said it's allot of work to merge topics instead of lying by saying it's "prohibitive" to do so. show me prove of that and i shall believe you.

Merging a "topic" does not, well, merge the topic.

You can merge comments. Yeah. That's great. But there's multiple problems that ensue:

Discussions display comments in some order. How do you decide what order to display? Chronological? By original topic? Both methods have critical flaws.
A "megathread" covering a general topic (ex: Yummi) will have multiple actual points of discussion. Examples: Kit. Balance. Design. Playstyle. Playing against. And more. How do you decide what order these topics get displayed in and discussed?
How do you justify some "discussion topics" being considered "less valid" than others and being relegated lower in the megathread?

This is just a sampling of issues that arise with megathreads.

that just shows the problems that arise from merging them. it is not evidence that it is prohibitive to do so. btw i said purge, not merge. purge as in remove all of them. they all talk about the same thing: how trash or broken yuumi is and is nothing but negative reviews about the champ and opinions of any who think otherwise.

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of money/scientific value in conducting large scale studies of multiple forum environments and the benefit of megathreads on them.

I assumed you didn't really mean "purge" (as in remove all of them), as that's contrary to the purpose of a discussion board, which is to discuss. It would be like a McDonalds saying "we are only going to serve soda now" - it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Controlling what topics are allowed to discuss for no reason other than "I don't like seeing them" is absolutely not an appropriate idea for any forum.
