Edit: Signifying the end of (bad) times, the Heralds emerge onto the Boards!

Edit: We may still be ironing out a couple minor details with the role, so things could change

You may already be familiar with the Boards Volunteers, but today we introduce a new role into the fray; Heralds!

Heralds strive to advance the Boards growth by developing content as well as behind the scenes with quality of life projects. They also act as mentors within the program and serve as ambassadors between the Boards community and the Volunteers.

You may see them around sporting purple names and the icon at the bottom of this post. You may also not see them, as some of their work is done in the shadows! The following Volunteers will be ascending to the role of Herald immediately;

Wuks (Arbiter)
Evangele (GD Warden)
From the Cosmos (Roaming Warden)
Deep Terror Nami (Arbiter)

When Baron spawns, we are actively operating the strings attached to the back of Baron Nashor (Don't look too closely) and controlling our puppet.

It's great when our puppet attracts unsuspecting teams into throwing their games. (We like it that way)

More aptly though, the answer is this!

We're always keeping an eye out for active community members that exemplify the traits we want in our Volunteers. If you're active and helpful, we'll notice! We'll open up applications on the boards for positions when needed, but may also approach individuals we're interested in.

Be a positive force in the community and help us build the Boards! We need everyone's participation in that endeavor. :)

Hmmm.....now that I'm seeing this, DTN, I think you need to alter how Heralds are highlighted in chat.

I know that, in order to differentiate normal commenters from the original poster of the thread, you guys highlight the name of the OP. However, with your name being highlighted, it is very difficult to see, even for someone who isn't color blind. I suspect that someone who is colorblind wouldn't be able to see your name at all.

You guys do highlight Riot OPs with a black highlight instead of a blue one, probably for this very reason. Perhaps do the same for Arbiters?

Do you guys have any say on how the boards are formatted/structured?

What kind of content are we talking about? Thought provoking posts? Helping to foster discussion in certain topics? Vast roleplaying threads? Mafia threads but with league champions and abilities?

Love the purple colour btw.

Real development is pretty limited, but what we can do it's definitely something we have a say in and will be focusing on (If you've checked out the Red Tracker, Wuks wrote the script that hides the H&S posts!). With posts, less about the discussion threads, more like the Boards User's Guides and Wuks' Weekly Roundup.
