Suggestion: Implement the boards directly into the client...

and show top posts or posts with a lot of traffic there. Let mods pin some posts there for easy access.

It even would be enough if there was a little feature showing just some tidbits from the boards on the fly. Give the boards some traction, increase its status and give at an even more low-barrier entry point.

Just a thought.
