older posts appearing in recent

while i dont care much about seeing them here and there but half the time the people who end up bringing them into recent with a comment think its newer than it actually is, so it would help lower confusion if after a certain amount of time passes it gets some form of mark or just gets a darker outline as a notice that those posts are old

Thia is a fair point, but it also has to do with however these new commenters are displaying their pages. Are they looking at: Best, Hot, New, or Recent? Even it a topic is older, a Hot one or Best may still be relevant.
