they changed it so you actually have to click on the post before voting! :D I really appreciate this as people would just look at the title, vote, then move on! thanks to whoever did that!

Nobody noticed tens of arrows disappearing from left side of the post-bars. Very subtle.
I like it overall, though it is annoying to remember that I intended an upvote/downvote after reading a thread and needing to re-click on it. Not a huge deal, though.
I agree, forcing players to read a thread before voting, and not just doing so based on its title, was a good move, and I think helped at least slightly with certain discussions on the Boards, notably on Gameplay. I do think there's likely more to be done, and I look forward to seeing how the experiment of removing votes entirely on the Swain VGU megathread pans out, but for the time being this is already more progress than I think we've seen since the Boards launched.
